Dr. James Robert Debord, MD

This doctor's appearance should have been my first clue. He showed up looking shabby and sloppy. He was to insert a port for chemo, which he did, but he left me in terrible pain, bruised, and one of the incisions appears to have been torn and sloppily repaired. My trusted oncologist referred me to this butcher and I wish I'd read these reviews first. It's still early, but if it gets infected or when it comes out, he will never touch me again.

My wife was a patient of Dr. Debord in 2001. She was told she needed thoracic outlet surgery which he performed. Even after 60 days she still had pain. At that appointment he told her she was faking it and he was done with her. Told her he'd send her to a pain management specialist and washed his hands of her. Turned out she had Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. A terrible doctor. Did not know this site was here but want to comment.

When originally dealing with this doc in 2006, he was short, curt, rude, and somewhat obnoxious. His bedside manner was deplorable. Now, after 11 years, his temperament has mellowed a bit, and he is kinder and more caring than before. Still has a tendency to dismiss patients quickly, but does try to listen more than he used to.

Outpatient surgery turned into a week long stay in the hospital after he made a mistake. Then he comes to check on me and tells me that it was my fault. Refuses to listen to anything and doesn't understand that any amount of bile in my body was bad!!

Saw this Doctor one time and it was one time too many. He was rude, arrogrant and self-important. And I got that impression before even one word was spoken.
