Dr. James F Flaherty, DO

Dr. Flaherty is hands down the finest Doctor I've ever had and I am 71 ~ he has given me my life back with his unending understanding of my problem ~ his bedside manner is one of kindness and a real gentle man ~ I'm grateful to God for this Doctor who keeps up with my problem and always has a plan going ~ Dr. Flaherty is awesome!!

I was very impressed with his understanding and knowledge of my problem and his info about the latest warnings on the medicine I take .

I read some past reviews, but decide to meet with Dr. Flaherty and see for myself. Thank God I did. I was so nervous about surgery and he took lots and lots of time to set my mind at ease. He explained everything to me; start to finish on bladder surgery. Trusting Dr. Flaherty was the best medical decision I have ever made. At my age surgery was frightening to say the least. I knew exactly what to expect and my recovery time. If you are unhappy with Dr Flaherty, you are probably just an unhappy person looking for trouble.

I was extremely anxious and nervous about my upcoming surgery. Dr. Flaherty was kind and patient with me. He made me feel so very comfortable by explaining each and every step involved. Although it has only been two months, I have never felt better. Please, if want a skilled and professional surgeon, make an appointment with Dr Flaherty. It was the best decision I ever made. Thank You.

I am pretty sure that this Dr made a mistake in charging me this extra $103,91 just because I asked him about my constipation and allergy, which he "well educated" prescript me a "benefiber" and "baby powder". I still not convinced that he remember me, because I don't think that a Dr, that you could consider as a Doctor in order to ask extra questions about your health, when in a visit, would charge you that amount to tell you that you have to use baby powder... but I will pay this bill..., and will be exciting waiting for the next "annual visit" just to stared at him and ask how much I will have to pay for some extra question about my health!! I am so sorry Dr, but I thought that we still have humans taking care of us and our health, but unfortunately I have been proof once more, that this is all about money $$$... SO SAD!! OUR WORLD NEEDS MORE HUMAN PEOPLE...

Jim Flaherty did not address any of the adverse effects and the severe pain that started right after implant and the evening of my implant. I could not walk, sit or lay down. I had to crawl around and bend over something to have any relief. I continued to have additional adverse events starting 6 weeks and throughout the next six months. He went in 6 months later and "cut" the arms. I became worse with infection etc... Finally went out of state to have mesh removed from bladder. My life and health was ruined by this mesh medical device. I walked into have surgery in good health and the evening of implant my body began to reject the AMS TVT sling mini monarch system. My Journey to be mesh free has been long and the debilitating effects painful. Nine, yes nine surgeries later my life was robbed in a "simple" surgery. If he had give. Me the 2008 FDA advisory in 2009 to make a proper informed consent, I would have had full knowledge that this was wrong. There are now tens of thousands… implanted, with the latest FDA advisory recalling mesh. Don't be fooled by new improved mesh; that's like saying it's only half cancer... Flaherty is on a retirement treadmill, preying upon the elderly so he can fuel his golf game. You can run Jim, but you can not hide! Changing practices four times in three years, then running to FL will not change the outcome of your mesh.

His negligence following an out-pt surgery nearly made my mother die

I have been a patient of Dr. F's for 5 years. I had a car accident which resulted in extensive pelvic injury. Dr. F was the only doctor who took the time to listen to my needs, diagnose the situation, and find a solution. He was extremely compassionate and knowledgeable. The staff is awesome too- my appointments were always on time yet I never felt rushed. Dr. Flaherty literally gave me life back!

I started seeing Dr. Flaherty in 2003 for fertility reasons and then continued with him during Menopause. My experiences with Dr. Flaherty and his staff have always been positive, even when fertility prognosis were not. Although I've since moved away from Maine, I have continued to use Dr. Flaherty for my annual exams and have been able to make appointments with relatively short notice when travel has me in the area.
