Dr. James Steven Forage, MD

Not sure how to rate this doctor but as I read previous reviews, I see issues that I have noticed on my first visit with dr forage . Right now the biggest problem I’m having is with his staff. I have a unique situation and my physical therapist said that Dr forage might be interested to find out my problem. Hopefully he can/will help ????. I have seen several neurologists since moving to Nevada and none are interested or just don’t want to be bothered. SO Sad ??

Had 2 cervical surgeries done by him and so far they have been successful. Bottom line is he's a no nonsense kind of DR. Here's the deal and how would you like to go about it. M.L. Fulford.

Doctor Forage did a great job of fixing me up with a Deep Brain Stimulator. His staff dealt with my insurance company, and I got the operation quickly, and the worst of my Parkinson's Disease symptoms were greatly relieved. He's very good at what he does. Thank you very much Doctor Forage!

Accompanied my mother to her presurgical appointment one day prior to surgery to remove large brain tumor. Appalled at Dr. Forage's curt, indifferent, and flippant attitude. He acted like he had no knowledge of her case even though he had seen her a week before in the hospital, was unaware he was operating on her the next day( he said he just goes where his scheduler tells him to go), and then said he will show up tomorrow for the surgery if he doesn't call in sick! It was a very unsettling experience and not at all reassuring when your life is on the line. He stared at the computer files and typed and did not talk to us and we were only able to get a few questions answered on what we could expect before he ushered us out to his Scheduler's office. My mother died 12 days after the surgery and we saw Dr Forage Postop on the day of surgery to get his report on the surgery, but never saw him again. If it wasn't for the hospitalist and nurses, we would have been in the dark about my… mother's condition. Surely there are more caring neurosurgeons in Vegas with a better bedside manner. Yes, surgical skill is important but that shouldn't rule out some semblance of professional demeanor. This doctor doesn't realize or maybe care how his attitude affects patients and their families. Maybe someday he will be the patient in the dynamic and learn how a doctor's bedside manner affects the patient and family.

Arrogant. Charged me an hour visit when he spent 10 min with me and I waited 2 hours to be seen. My MRI results showed severe foraminal narrowing and he said "Sorry. Not bad enough to do surgery. Go to UCLA". So here I am 3 years later still suffering because I lost all hope and faith in the medical field and don't trust anyone. This man has NO bedside manner and unless he can open you up and make thousands of dollars on you; you aren't worth his time. This doctor needs a reality check.

I honestly cannot believe this guy is a practicing neurosurgeon. Rude, arrogant, and shows absolutely no compassion or desire for you to get better.

Very arrogant. I wasn't looking for sympathy from him, but to know that he wanted me to get better would be nice. He just seems like he couldn't care less about what you are going through. He also must have called me "buddy" and "guy" at least a dozen times. Using my name seems a bit more appropriate from a doctor. He may be very skilled as a surgeon, but his personality is extremely douchy. You've been warned.

Dr. Forage is an OUTSTANDING surgeon and his staff was always attentive and courteous. He removed a large tumor from my skull and I haven't felt this healthy in years. I am very grateful for his help!

Worst doctor I've ever seen. I've been to many different back doctors since 2009, and forage is the worst. No patience, no manners, no clue what the heck he's doing. Hes so wrapped up in thinking he's better than every body he doesn't pay attention to anything you say. Getting a new doctor. James Forage needs a new career, one that doesn't involve dealing with people's lives and well being.
