Dr. James David Gallagher, MD

Dr. Gallagher is an excellent OBGYN who puts his patients first. He takes his time during appointments and makes sure every question I have is answered completely. What stands out most to me is how he explains complicated medical information in a way that's simple and understandable, helping me feel empowered about my healthcare choices. His sincere dedication to my health, along with his skill and professionalism, makes each appointment worthwhile. I always leave feeling valued, listened to, and confident in my care. It's uncommon to find a doctor who is both this competent and caring, and I strongly recommend Dr. Gallagher to anyone seeking top-quality OBGYN services.

We (both wife & husband) would award 6 stars if not limited to only 5!! From start to finish we received absolutely wonderful hands-on care from Dr Gallagher & his wonderful team. His outstanding advice, superb treatment & gracious patience with our never-ending questions were spot on – the proof is our thriving newborn daughter! We feel EXTREMELY fortunate to have found him! The glowing praise of Dr Gallagher from several RNs in the labor & delivery section at the Meese Countryside hospital simply reaffirmed that we were in the best hands possible. If we choose to add to our family we will want only him and his team! We cannot recommend him highly enough!!

I'm glad to have found Dr. Gallagher. He seems knowledgeable and passionate about his specialty, which showed through his detailed answers and instructions. He kept asking if I had any more questions, which I thought was out of the norm nowadays (other doctors seem to be rushing and cutting it short instead). I like that he's straightforward and doesn't try to pamper me like I was a child. The actual women's exam was quick, which is a blessing because who wants this thing long anyway? I was referred to him by a family member who is also a patient of his. The women in my circle who have young children all had their babies delivered by him, and they all rave about how good he is. I really believe that my future baby(ies) and I are in good hands.

You and your baby are in some of the BEST hands when a patient of Dr. Gallaghers. I've seen the reviews on bed side manner and wait times...he's is a doctor of Babies, you cannot predict what a baby will do so yes in a blue moon you may be waiting for a delivery to finish up or he may be rushing between the hospital back to his office for your appointment. Hes extremely knowledgeable and his work ethic is amazing! He is quiet but if you require extra care that's when you will see his true bedside manner which is amazing. He's always extremely professional and willing to answer any questions you have. You can rest asure your baby's needs will always be put first with Dr Gallagher. He is not a scare tactic doctor by any meanings, what he suggests is always based off what he knows will bring the best outcome. I wish I had him for my first pregnancy!!! Top OB in Pinellas by FAR! Very respected by his staff and the nurses at the hospital love him as well as work fantastic with him.

Delivered both my children and is my main doctor. I compare all doctors to him. So kind, the smartest, truly cares, unassuming. THE BEST.

Dr Gallagher is the only obgyn I trust with myself and babies

Best obgyn!!!! Dr. Gallagher delivered all 3 of my blessings. The whole pregnancy he was amazing always making sure to answer any questions i had. i definitely recommend to and one looking for a obgyn.

I went to Dr. Gallagher for a first prenatal visit to see if he would be a good fit to deliver our third child. He came highly recommended but I was warned about his bedside manner. Without any explanation of procedure or telling what he was doing at all he began attempting to preform a PAP smear. Since I already had a test within the last two months I refused to have the actual smear done which he then decided to speak to me like I was an incompetent child who needed to have explained step by step exactly how they take the test, how the put the cells I to the specimen jar, how they send it to a lab, etc.... as if any grown pregnant woman doesn’t understand the steps of a test she gets yearly! Getting to hear my baby’s heart was the only good part of the visit which was shortly ruined by his was impersonable ramblings of facts about tests to predict what could be wrong with our child. Don’t get me wrong I understand the need to be informed but if a patient is telling their doctor they… are well aware of the tests and that they just had a child a year ago so it’s fresh in our mind maybe listen. Seemed like he was more concerned with hearing himself ramble on like a robot to the point where he stopped me from speaking several times. I can’t imagine a worse doctor being between my legs telling me to push at such an important time in our life! Wish I could get the $250 I was charged for our first visit back as it was a total nightmare being In his presence and I left the office almost in tears at the frustration he caused during our visit. Never going back.

He may a great doctor but his staff is terrible. I called to make an appointment as a new patient and the lady on phones “JEN” said “we don’t have availability, and we probably don’t take your insurance” not sure what that’s supposed to mean. She gave the phone to someone else who was much more professional. Turns out they have appointments available tomorrow AnD they do take my insurance. Funny.

Dr. Gallagher delivered my second child and I won't take away the fact that he's a great surgeon however, he has horrible bed side manners and isn't very compassionate nor patient. When I got pregnant with my third child I made sure to look else where.
