Dr. James Miller Gordon, MD

I paid $305 for Dr. Gordon to spend 10 minutes doing the most ridiculus cursory examination I have ever seen. He then proceeded to say nothing was wrong, refused to discuss any of the issues with me the patient, then spent 20 minutes telling me how great he is and how he discovered a rare illness in a patient in the last few months. Do not see this doctor.

Worst doctor I have ever encountered.

We have had several interactions with Dr. Gordon, both in the hospital and in his office with two different people in our family. I found him to be arrogant and impatient. He acted superior with my elderly mother and had no bedside manner or kindness. I found it hard to communicate with him.

Why make an appointment when you have to wait 45 minutes to an hour for a 15 minute exam. It seems that the patient's time is worth very little. Time after time I have to wait to see this doctor in spite of having an appointment. Rarely am I seen at my scheduled time and this has been going on for years. Today I waited for an hour. There is little respect for the patient's time.

I have had a horrible experience with this doctor. I went to see him and he looked at me for less than 5 minutes and said that their is nothing he could do. We have called him 3 times and he hasn't returned our phone call. Waiting on being referred to another doctor and getting nowhere. Very disappointed in his services.

I've been going to him a year. He is a compassionate provider but not in the usual way--I wouldn't call him a warm fuzzy person, but he will do absolutely everything he can for you. He takes as long as we need to make sure I have everything answered. He instantly refers me to specialists, many times scheduling the appt. on the phone during our meeting--and they don't turn him down. He is somewhat of a "big thinker"--can get very medical, very big terminology fast... but will slow it down if you ask. As long as you aren't asking about minor stuff he is good. He definitely loves the intellectual knowledge of it all and knows his stuff.

I have a neurological condition that requires ongoing care from a variety of neurosurgeons and neurologists. What I can say about my experience with Dr. Gordon is that he doesn't give a very good first impression and I initially found his rough demeanor off-putting. After giving him a good chance, I found that he is actually one of the more caring neurologists I've seen. His energy seems a bit "high-and-mighty" at first but I am sure now that is not the case at all. He is extremely intuitive and thorough and I can see myself making progress with him.He would make a great psychotherapist I think. I do, however, find that he doesn't listen to me as much as I would like (as far as meds I've been successful with in the past, treatments I found ineffective) but I have had that same problem with every neurologist I have ever seen.The difference with Dr. Gordon is that I trust he knows whats best for me and is as dedicated as I am to managing my condition and improving my quality of life.

I have been seeing Dr. Gordon for a couple years now and completely disagree with some of the negative ratings on here. In addition to being thorough and professional, Dr. Gordon has always shown interest in me as a person, how I am feeling, if I am struggling with my disorder, etc. I think this is an essential quality in a neurologist given the fear and personal pain involved in neurological disorders. I have not received this same care from other neurologists.I have never waited very long for my visits and i know for a fact that Dr. Gordon has skipped lunch or stayed late on occasion for patients that needed it. The idea that he doesn't care about his patients' time is ridiculous.Some of these reviews have called Dr. Gordon egocentric. I can see where they are coming from to some degree, but I think it's a miscalculation. Dr. Gordon is very confident in his methods and diagnoses. To someone that wants their doctor to reaffirm what they've read on the internet, this could seem… egocentric. I have always found this confidence to be reassuring, especially because I know that I can trust in his abilities.I cannot review Dr. Gordon highly enough, as a doctor and as a person.

I have found Dr. Gordon to be a concerned caring physician. Sometimes I have felt he was egocentric. I finally realized that was his manner. If I call the office with a concern, he quite often calls me back himself. He enquires about my family. He has sent me to a movement specialist for a second opinion. I think he is great. (I love his curly hair)

I have been impressed with Dr Gordon both times I have interacted with him over the last seven years. He quickly and accurately diagnosed my issues ( cervical radicularopathy ) and was professional and informative throughout my visit with him.
