Dr. James Harris Gruft, MD

Dr. Gruft and his team are the most kind, compassionate, and understanding medical group I've ever come across in my 52 years of life. He really takes his time to find out the source of the pain, and endeavors to follow a comprehensive plan to alleviate the suffering. He just has the best bedside manner of any physician I've met. Dr. Gruft listens intently and does not judge you at all but rather is quite supportive in affirming what you have been going through. In addition to his friendly and prompt front desk staff, I also must compliment the physical therapist Jizelle. During our session, she took time to carefully go over the steps needed to lessen the pain through exercises that anyone can do at home. She makes sure you understand the physical sources of the pain. She realizes that the answer to pain management involves not just medication, but active physical therapy as well. Overall, he and his team deserves 10 stars out of 5. You can trust Dr. Gruft!

I must echo some of the other reviews and say that Dr Gruft is talented, but the staff can be difficult and even rude. The receptionist at the front desk is the most unpleasant I have ever encountered. While waiting to see Dr. I see her roll her eyes when patients ask questions and she seems very disinterested on the phone. She seems to view patients as an annoyance and interruption. She has a way of making persons feel unwelcome when walking in. Also, I recommend being very certain you have accomplished all you need while you are there as it is very hard to get anything done with the staff over the phone. RX refills, lab work or anything else is very hard to get done if you aren't there. If you leave a message about experiencing medication side effects, you are not likely to hear back from this office.Often,.phone calls are not returned for days, if at all.

Dr Gruft really helped me with my pain. He is compassionate and very knowledgeable. His staff is very courteous. From Pain to Wellness is a health center full of integrity!

Dr. Gruft is a very caring and knowledgeable physician. His staff is warm and welcoming. This is the very best place for people with pain issues.

I would highly recommend that if you have to deal with pain management doctor, then go somewere else. the reason most if not all of us go to see dr gruft is because we are in pain, his staff inflicts pain by how rude and ignorant they are. I have NEVER in my life dealt with such a rude staff in all my life and I have been to numerous doctors. the doc himself is a very nice guy, but not the rest of them. find somewere else to go.

Dr Gruft is the most honest sincere doctor I have ever had. He is the kindest, most under standing Dr I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have unbearable chronic back pain & he does what no other pain doctor does is listen. He is kind & understanding & doesn't take bribes from pharmaceutical companies. I think he is a GREAT Doctor. They don't make them like him anymore. The only problem if you want to call it that.I had was with a receptionist who hangs up on me 3 times 2 weeks in a row & I tell her she hung up on me twice & she says watch your tone. Excuse me I had strep throat & do these people know who pays there income. I would never talk to a patient that way. Dr Gruft is worth it though He is terrific along with Marianne & Grace I almost forgot they are Terrific! Dr Grft & Dr Doodle are great!

I would definitely recommend him highly!!!

He's very caring and compassionate. His depth of knowledge is amazing. He's helped me with my pain and saved my life.
