Dr. James Tyler Hansen, MD

I saw Dr. Hansen multiple times and was very pleased with those visits and with Dr. Hansen's being open to questions and not hesitating to give clear answers and making sure they were understood on my part.

Dr. Hansen treated my daughter fifteen years ago when he was in Sacramento area. He never returned calls in a timely manner, and he did not keep close watch on her condition, resulting in her needing emergency surgery. It almost cost her her life! Think twice about choosing him for a dr. if you have a complicated illness like Crohns disease.

I saw Dr Hansen in the mid 70's, first at the Roseville Hospital ER then some time later at his office in the Carmichael area of Sacramento Ca. He remembered me from the first visit which made me feel again that he cares about his patients and wants them to feel good about coming in to see him. I moved from there to the Shasta area shortly after and over time several of my doctors tried to locate Dr Hansen for consults. Our loss is definately your gain and I would absolutely recommend him to all family and friends.

Would Highly Recomend Dr Hansen Even if you have to go outside your plan! As I did, he will do what ever it takes to help you. Great Dr, even better person.

I am a 40 yr old female who saw Dr. Hansen and had to have a colonoscopy. I would recommend him. He listened to me and told me that my health and well being was the up-most importance to him. He has a very good reputation at the hospital (my friend is a nurse there).

very knowledgeable about his field, good helpful staff, answers any questions about your condition and treatment, up to date knowledge of treatment options and not opposed to natural treatments if they are effective

It took 20 plus days to get an appointment just for them to reschedule it as I walked in the door.Front desk staff acted like it was no big deal. Forget the 30 minute drive, traffic etc...And just to be helpful they gave me another appointment 15 day out on a day I work.

First, I and my friend each made an appointment. The office kept changing times when called to confirm.Second, the impression of the visit was not so great. In the exam room a nurse took my blood pressure, stuff are laying around on exam bed, and dishes and cups are in the sink where Dr. cleans his hands. (though I was seen by Dr. in another room.)Third, it made me seriously wonder what king of Dr. he is when I heard him saying ".....beautiful woman like you..." to me, the patient....

I've been a patient with Dr. Hansen for several years and he really knows his stuff! He's polite and easygoing with great bedside manners. He also has a good sense of humor and not at the patients expense. When it comes to internal medicine, Maui is blessed to have a doctor of his caliber caring for the folks on this island. In some ways I wish I didn't have to see him for my health issues, but seeing how I have to see someone for my issues, I'm extremely pleased with James' expertise and couldn't ask for a better doctor anywhere else on this planet. He's not only one of my doctors, I look to him as a friend, and if I didn't think he was worthy I wouldn't have taken the time to write my thoughts, the point is he is by far one of the best in his field and this needs to be known. If you ever have to see him, you'll be glad you have a doctor like James Hansen taking care of your health.
