Dr. James Christopher Humphries

Went to him 5 years ago (in my mid 20s) for a urethral stricture. At first he tried to tell me I just had trouble urinating because I let my bladder get too full and tried to give me (a mechanical engineer) a lesson in "physics" as he put it. His recommendation was to send me home with a catheter to use the rest of my life....or, he could shove one in and bust it open and maybe it would fix it. I got up and left.

My problem with this Dr. is, I think maybe he didn't get enough hugs, when he was a child, like last week? Very rude, and that's putting it gently. He's got the bedside manner, of a badger, with a kidney stone. He's just a stepping stone, until I gain a little more knowledge about the Urologists close by..in the mean time, beware of this guy. All he wants is your money, he'll tell you to drink plenty of water, cut back on salt, and red meat, which I did years ago. But, he actually thinks, YOUR dumb enough to believe he's actually trying to help you..he's an absolute joke. I just don't think he realizes how many good Urologists there are close to his office..just a little more, and I'm outa there!!! Good luck everyone..!

My husband had the misfortune to be referal to this so call Dr. We did not realized you did not have to wait to be seen because he doesn't have very many patients wating, the staff at the front desk tried to make him look good but when you deal with him you can't even imagine what will be to work for him. His bed side manners are not bad he DOESN'T HAVE ANY MANNERS. He misdiagnosed my husband and cost him a month of pain and stress, he should not be practicing medicine, he is a disgrace to the medical community and really to the human race. There is not words that can accurately describe the ineptitude and lock of care of this man.

Dr. Humphries has the bed side manner of a dead animal. He barely looked at me during our appointments. His office staff was nice, but does not make up for his terrible bedside manner. DO NOT go to this doctor. There are many other urologists in the Houston area to choose from. One star for Dr. Humphries.

This urologist has very poor bedside manners. Rather than explain my condition for me, he merely stated what I had and handed me a paper of a new diet regime I needed to follow. Then he asked me was I ready to begin with treatment right then? He provided no alternatives except for the expensive series of treatments he performed on me. His front office ladies were nice, but I would NOT recommend this doctor. He needs to grow some manners.

I visited the office 5 days after being diagnosed with a kidney stone at the ER. The doctor failed to acknowledge I was a type 2 diabetic, complained about my weight and ignored the fact I was in considerable pain. He took a urine sample and charged for analysis. 3 days later I was back in the ER and had an emergency operation to remove the kidney stone as I was "12-24 hrs away from total renal/kidney failure". No results of the analysis have been shared with me by Humphries.
