Dr. James Norris Johnson, MD

I have gone to Dr. Johnson for joint problems for many years now and he has been a great help without surgery.

Dr. Johnson is insightful and thorough. He takes the time to assess a problem, and he is very accessible. I appreciate the fact that he actively trains interns and residents, which suggests to me that he remains very current in the field.

Easy to talk to and he is very intuitive. I have gone to him for over ten years and have always been very satisfied with the outcome.

Dr. Johnson was busy training 3 residents/healthcare professionals. He spent very little time with me and gave me a quick diagnosis and steroidal injection treatment. Unfortunately, his diagnosis did not match what was later found on the MRI. Dr. Johnson didn't bother to follow up to tell me his diagnosis was incorrect or to tell me what was found on the MRI. I was in terrible pain, taking more pain pills than I felt comfortable taking, but he didn't bother to check my MRI before leaving his office on a Friday. The MRI was done the day before and the results were quickly sent to his office for review. I found out my results because I had another physician call and read the MRI report. When I called to follow up, he was gone for the weekend and there was no other physician who would read the report and discuss it with me. I had to find another physician to treat my issues. Dr Johnson was difficult to deal with after I requested further testing, questioning his diagnosis. He,… reluctantly, ordered the test I requested and the MRI confirmed my doubts.

Dr.Jim is a great doctor. He was the only orthopedist of several orthopedic doctors to diagnose the problems my daughter was having with her knees. He was always aggressive in treating her...yet was always encouraging. His concern was always for her. The athletic trainer that works with his is tops, too!
