Dr. James E Kent, MD

This was the first time visit as a new patient for my family member. I was told my grandmother would have her toe nails cut they were long and bothering her and she suffers from neuropathy. She thought she might have had an Ingrown toenail. It is a Dr.s job to examine the patients feet and see what the problem is. He didn’t even touch her feet he walked in looked at it and said I’ll cut it out. It wasn’t read or swollen so I didn’t think she had an ingrown toenail she just needed nails trimmed. He performed an unnecessary procedure in my opinion. Bed side manners were awful, very rude and he pushed her feet to the side and said you need to move your feet; she had a curtain in front of her so she couldn’t see what he was doing and she was asking me in Spanish if he cut her nail out and he stopped and said “what ever she needs to say she can say to me!” I informed him that she wanted to know what he was doing because he never explained step by step what exactly he was doing to her and… she was very scared and nervous. He numbed her toe up cut it out wrapped it up and and said she was done. I asked him to cut her toe nails because they were hurting her and he informed me that her insurance didn’t cover it and i needed to pay cash for him to cut them. I was furious! They told me they would cut her toenails after they pulled her “ingrown toenail out.” Then changed the story and said no they couldn’t because it wasn’t covered. Why didn’t he tell me before he did this? He said her toe wasn’t infected but yet it was Ingrown? I was very upset. He kept saying if another podiatrist looked at her or cut them before it wouldn’t cover her. I told him from the very beginning she hadn’t seen another podiatrist it had been more than 2 years since she last seen one and they just cut and trimmed her toenails. He dismissed her with no prescription for pain once the anestesia wore off and he said she didn’t need any antibiotics because it was never infected? So why did he take it out? Now I’m worried she might get an infection and she will be in pain once the numbing medicine wares off. She is an elderly woman and we both felt horrible how the office visit went and how we were treated. I would not recommend anyone see this Dr.

This is the most amazing Doctor. He has more than once been my hero. You see, I have gout really severe, and he along with his lovely staff, have made same day visits for me to be seen and treated. They just don’t make them like that anymore. The whole complete staff is fantastic. I have used other podiatrists in the past, but nothing compares to Dr. Kent. Thank you Dr. Kent and the “GIRLS”
