Dr. James Joseph Kerrigan

Dr. Kerrigan has been the best neurologist I have ever had. Figured out everything for me ASAP. He’s a genius.

He is NOT a qualified Neurologist- take the drive and go to St. Barnabas in Livingston. Kerrigan did not explain results of my sons EEG or MRI - he just wrote him a script for medication my son DID NOT NEED! He misdiagnosed him!!!! This is a curt and callous horrible doctor. Do your research - this guy is not fit to practice!!

I come all the way from harrisburg to see this dr. He is fantastic!!

This Dr. does not belong in the medical field, he loves himself way to much. He should be making mirrors. He is very judgemental, extremely unprofessional, not very prompt either. He gets an attitude when your five minutes late. You hurry to get there, but then you only wait to see him. You always feel like he hurrys you out the door in order the get the next $$$ / patient in. Not a very warm or inviting place to be. He do not take the time to get to know you, not even a little. Asking a question is like, pulling teeth. In fact, its about that painful too. Don't ever give him any reports, or xrays that you'll need back, you'll never see them again, he loses them. Stay very far away from this so-called Dr.

Since there isn't an area to rate the office staff, I am writing here. My husband's appointment was at 8:00am. The receptionist didn't show up at the front desk until 8:01 although she arrived at 7:35. Once she turned on her computer, she called my husbands name, then complained that her computer was slow coming on and then handed him paperwork to fill out. We arrived at 7:30 knowing there would be paperwork to fill out. I find this unprofessional and uncaring. This is horrible customer service. It is now 8:20 and we sit and wait......

After 2 other doctors, Dr. Kerrigan was the first neurologist who knew why I'd been going through a 12-year depression and that it was not a depression but the medications I was taking combining to cause the symptoms of a depression. Also helped me take a more aggressive approach to my seizure-condition instead of just accepting it as OK that I have 3 or 4 seizures a week and to be happy with that, and not try to improve on that. It does help to know what you want going in, though. I did, having known, with other doctors, what I had had before I got there. Explaining that to him helped him approach my case the way we both felt was appropriate. As a result, I am very happy with the results of the treatments I have received from this doctor.

They get you in fast but not as fast as he gets you out of his office. He rescheduled my follow up visit 3 times and was about to do it a 4th time untill I stood my ground and insisted that he make room on my next day off.He prescribed a medicine and 4 months later when I insisted on not rescheduling was when he asked about the medicine I was on and now I am trying to taper off and his office is giving me the run around to get the last refil. I would never recomend him to anyone even my enemies. very poor follow up.

He is a terrible doctor. He barely spends any time with you and it's often just a cursory exam.
