Dr. James Patrick Kerwin

Dr. Kerwin is clearly competent but also has great care in how he treats us. We are lucky to have him as our family doctor

Dr Kerwin is a very caring person who always listens and hears what you are saying.

My family has followed Dr. Kerwin to 4 different locations as his career advanced. He cares for my family at every level and has helped us through chronic illness diagnosis, substance abuse issues, cancer, and living through the ups and downs of caring for an aging parent, to mention just a few. For me, he has worked as a vital part of the medical team that manages my many complex health issues. Dr. Kerwin ensures the medications (20 of them) prescribed by the different specialists work together to maintain optimal health. Dr. Kerwin responds to emails and phone calls promptly, I have even received a follow-up phone call on a Sunday afternoon. There is so much I could say about the quality of care my family has received from Dr. Kerwin. If you are looking for a PCP, you will be amazed abut the care you will receive if you select Dr. Kerwin.

(It's a shame that doctors have to have their ratings influenced by their support staff; far too often today, the proliferation of HMOs, in particular, put them in a position of having little control over this aspect of their practice. I hope that those health care professionals reading my and other such surveys will consider this factor in creating review formats in future. Oh, and we should be able to indicate a wait time of zero minutes.) To say that Dr. Kerwin is one of the two most important men in my life I believe says it all. He's caught cancerous tumors in time for surgery to remove them, has sent me - on an "urgent" basis, and absolutely unexpectedly - for CTs and MRIs that very likely saved my life or, at the least, my quality of living. He's also, for many years, cared and asked without judgment about personal issues that have affected my life - *and* my health - and, in conjunction with specialists, provided with me with medications carrying a stigma that might have… kept me from them if I were seeing a doctor less patient, kind and understanding than this wonderful man.

i don't know that there is a doctor who is more down to earth, caring, professional and available to do whatever is necessary for his patient than dr kerwin is. there are special, kind and rarely empathetic people on this earth; all of which form the basis of dr kerwin's bedside manner, along with a high level of knowledge and the initiator of an all around good doctor-patient relationship

First, office staff says "not sure" when asked if he is taking new patients.Then asks for your name, apparently they are screening new patients by name.Also states he is 'free to abandon' patients who have not seen him in 3 years.Unprofessional in my opinion.

Excellent and caring doctor.
