Dr. James Matthew Kiely, MD

Dr. Kindly took the time to listen to both me and my family. He cared enough to help find a solution to a very difficult problem which other doctors had left alone for many years. My case was also complicated as I have vertical nystagmus, making my eyes jump rapidly up and down. I trusted him completely to change my medications for seizures, and it was successful. Although I am devastated to lose him as my doctor, I wish him every success in his future endeavors. Thank you Jane for all your help when I needed it the most. you both will never be forgotten. I was a very complicated case and Dr. Kiely did not hesitate to take time to find a treatment plan to help me.His compassion and concern will never be forgotten. I have been a patient for years and he is the most competent dr. He is not a softball but gives me straight answers and helps manage my epilepsy. He calls me at 5:30 any day I call having a seizure issue and it is true appointments can take planning he and his staff are responsive.

After reading some of the negative reviews I wonder if we are talking about the same Dr. I had an abnormal MRI one day and Dr Kiely agreed to see me the very next day! He spent almost 30 minutes with me even though I was a “work in”. I have had a very complicated case in which Dr Kiely had to consult with my other physicians. He has worked well and timely with them. I found him very cordial and kind. He spent almost 30 minutes on my first visit with me and my spouse. He has ordered additional tests as needed. And he has called me personally at home: once even on a weekend to see how I was doing and to give me lab information and recommendations. His staff was helpful and kind. They sometimes get a little behind in returning calls or getting caught up the patient portal, but being in the health field myself I totally understand. My spouse and I have both been pleased.

Worst office staff I have ever dealt with. They do not return phone calls and despite many messages left trying to reach a provider I never received one. Was a patient for many years and was never treated nicely.

I hate to agree with everyone here, but I went several years ago and have never been back. He was rude and dismissive with zero people skills. I still have this neurological problem and need to find a doctor, so I pulled up his name and looked at reviews. Glad it's not just me. Will continue to look for a different doctor

I have read these reviews and 100% disagree. In 2008 I fell and hit my head on the concrete. I had a brain hemorrhage and was rushed to the hospital in a helicopter and had to have a craniotomy. I was in Shepard Center for about a month. I healed and headed back to my normal life. About 4 months later I had a seizure. The neurosurgeon that I saw recommended Dr. Kiely. He diagnosed me with epilepsy. He has helped me control this and has provided his expertise not only in neurology but prescriptions as well. He prescribed me on Lamictal and I have not had a seizure in over 5 years. He monitors my levels of Lamictal and kept watch on me while I was pregnant twice. Dr. Kiely might not fluff up the way he describes your illness but he tells you matter of fact and is there for you along the way. I am so grateful for Dr. Kiely and do not know where I would be without him. One more thing, his previous assistant and new assistant always call me back in a timely manner always. I… forgot my medicine while I was out of town once and was nervous about missing it. They called it in to the pharmacy in Denver and I was able to get it the same day. Dr. Kiely is the absolute best and I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a miracle. Thank you Dr. Kiely!!!!!!!

A spiteful and judgmental man, poor communicator, narcissistic. Qualifications may be fine, but who needs arrogance too?

I saw him in ER and he was very rude.

Not in the room 10 minutes, blurted out a diagnosis and left. Very poor.
