Dr. George Nicholas Stergis, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Stergis throughout this past year and he was able to help me tremendously with the headaches I have been dealing with. He asks a lot of questions and hears what you have to say. He was very easy to work with. I recommend him to anyone seeking help.

I have been a patient of Dr. Stergis for over 10 yrs...I had a reaction between 2 prescription drugs that I ended up being put in a coma for a week. Without Dr. Stergis intervention I would have died...It was a Memorial Day and he told my family to plan my funeral as by Monday I may not make it.....But with his intervention here I am and doing well....I have been going to him since...He has now moved to a practice in Winchester VA and I have followed him there..he has helped me with my pain issues and migraines....I would trust no other Dr to treat me..

My wife was suffering from weekly seizures that were at first thought to be associated with her past brain surgeries. Diagnosis by the ER doctors and UVA medical staff was ineffective. Dr Stergis patiently and thoroughly reviewed her medical history and current symptoms and diagnosed her seizures were a result of migraine headaches. He provided a new migraine medication that proved to be a wonder drug and went the extra mile to get the medication approved! Dr Stergis is an extremely dedicated and very compassionate doctor who patiently and efficiently works through to the right diagnosis and solution. Both my spouse and I always leave an appointment with him feeling very satisfied. Highly recommend both Dr Stergis and his very pleasant and efficient staff.

Finally have great relief from chronic migraine headaches. Dr Stergis was very professional, caring and compassionate. I will trust him with my care as well as recommend him to others

Have been in excruciating pain in my head and face for 20+ years. Pain was gradual at first then more frequent as the years progressed. My last episode lasted 6 weeks. Was diagnosed by several doctors, MRI's, etc. as having cervical spinal and facial neuralgia issues and told to wait until pain was severe enough to have surgery. I was recommended to Dr. Stergis and was overwhelmed to find out I have been having severe migraines. I was amazed by the Dr.'s attention to detail. He listened to everything I had to say with much patience and interest. He took a lot of time with me and even gave me medication in the office to see if it would work, and it did. After the 20 years of pain I am on my way to a better life. Also, the office was most helpful and kind.

After a car accident several years ago, I was in hospital for over a year. I had multiple surgeries, too many to list. The docs did not think I would ever walk again, but I did! Even so, I am severely disabled and have so many health issues now. I have been going to Wellspring in Culpeper - even though I live an hour away - because I never wanted to give up Dr. Stergis! I love all the docs there, but Dr. Stergis has been so good to me! He is patient and kind, he listens to my concerns and offers options and a lot of help. I can't imagine finding such a caring doctor again, but I have to relocate to Texas next month - I am going to miss Dr. Stergis so much! If you like a doc who knows his stuff but is laid back and just like a friend looking out for you, he is your guy. I hate to leave! Thanks for such great care over the years since my accident!

I moved from Indiana to Culpeper,VA approximately 10 years ago. Having numerous rather serious medical issues, I realized the necessity of selecting the expertise of quality specialists in various fields of medicine before my arrival! Dr. Stergis is my Neurologist and I have nothing but praise for the care I have received! Not only is he a devoted family man, he is equally devoted to his medical practice! In recent years, Dr. Stergis has accepted the care of my husband whom he diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease! He treats my husband with total respect, but also shows his understanding regarding the difficulty and stress this presents in our personal lives! He advises me what to expect as his condition changes! Accolades to Dr. George Stergis...the epitome of an excellent doctor and caregiver????????

Dr. Stergis is what one seeks in a doctor: knowledgable; caring; concerned; and willing to listen. My wife recently suffered a very serious medical condition that required immediate treatment to save her eyesight. Dr. Stergis personally walked us to the IV lab to make sure the medications were started right away. He also followed up on the medications with the lab. He returned phone calls and helped set up a biopsy with a surgeon to confirm the diagnosis by walking us to the surgeon's office and explaining what was needed. He followed up on everything and was a frequent visitor in the hospital. I recommend him without reservation as a prime example of what a medical doctor should be.

Been a patient of Dr Stergis for a few years...words cannot Express his loyalty to his patients...I have trigeminal neuralgia ...was suffering to the point I had never had...with Dr Stergis taking on this sickness he prescribed the perfect solution for my problem...his kindness and professionalism came across the time I had an attack...called him and he gave me the perfect dosage that took care of the pain...a little time passed and the phone rang...it was him...checking on me...the meds had really calmed the attack...well hard to believe but the next morning at 8 AM the phone call was from our wonderful caring Dr Stergis checking on me...this was amazing...doctors don't make house calls nowadays but that was the very same as a housecall... thanks to God we have a most dedicated doctor whom we appreciate beyond measure...thank you doctor for taking good care of us...kind doctor he is...knows his stuff!!!! One injection calmed a headache that was excruciating....he is the best!!

Recent appt. excellent, tho' a bit of "warm up time" is necessary to develop a conversation. ??
