Dr. James Isaac Kustin, MD

He is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever dealt with. I never do google reviews for anything or anyone, but this guy deserves some investigation into his practice. My experience with Kustin, his wife Arona, along with the staff (besides Helene, who is way too good for his clinic) was very dissapointing, and emotionally traumatizing. He shows zero empathy, and is inconsiderate and rude. That could all be overlooked if he was a good doctor, however, his methods are completely outdated with poor success rates. He does unnecessary procedures because he’s just a money-grabber and puts his patients through unnecessary and time-consuming invasive procedures. He racks up bills and never explains the costs, and you cannot ask him a single question without him yelling at you for basically asking a stupid question. I experienced one failed embryo transfer with him, after which his attitude completely changed towards my family and I. He showed zero empathy and basically blamed me for the… unsuccessful attempt. We had one more embryo left to be transferred and were called in for an appointment to discuss it further. When we went, the receptionist rudely asked why we came and that we were not scedhuled into Kustin’s day. I had already gone through so much at that point and been so burned by this clinic, that I just wanted to speak to Kustin and tell him that they needed to be more organized and not waste peoples times. We had literally just made this appointment a day prior so I know it wasn’t a mistake on our part. Kustin came out, heard me say this and dropped his files on the ground in front of all the other patients in the waiting room, yelled, threw a tantrum like the baby he is, and stormed into his office. The next day we got an email saying that he’s discharging us from his care. We had already paid so much money to this clinic, and once he took us for all that he could, we become no use to him and he let us go. That’s what it felt like. We then arranged for the embryo to be transferred to another clinic and the reputable clinic basically judged the quality of the embryo and were not impressed...which did not surprise us. We are still currently in the process of trying for a child, however, the experience with Kustin has made things very dissapointing and difficult for us. He is very quick and eager to try and get you on board as his patient when you first meet him. So save your money and walk away! He is the worse doctor.

A few years ago, I decided to try IVF for family balancing. I found Dr. Kustin after a disappointing experience at a different clinic. Dr. Kustin is very knowledgeable, straightforward and direct. He is very efficient with his work, communicates clearly, and had a high level of personal involvement with me, all in contrast to my experience at a previous clinic. I strongly believe that my successful outcome was the result of Dr. Kustin’s knowledgeable care and the talent of his excellent embryologist. In addition to achieving our desired outcome, the protocols and process were much more personal and suited to me in comparison to my previous experience. I felt comfortable and trusting with Dr. Kustin and his key colleagues including the embryologist, ultrasound technician, lab technician, and nurses. I would highly recommend Dr. Kustin !

Dr. Kustin stands for customized care of the highest quality. He is passionate about his work and truly cares about his patient's overall well-being. Because of my heart and high blood pressure issues, i'm not exactly an easy patient for Dr. Kustin. He took the time to monitor me daily and made daily adjustments to my injections. He was very gentle and proactive with me throughout the process. All thanks to his expertise and experience, my very first IVF cycle was a success! we got 13 eggs!! I did not get over-stimulated and my heart problem did not relapse. If you are looking for a fancy clinic with online portals for each patient and fancy looking pictures of embryos, this may not be the best clinic for you. However, if you are looking for best quality of care and best possible results, this is definitely the right clinic for you. I cannot thank Dr. Kustin enough for his work. he is awesome at performing miracles.

With dr. Kustin help, I got pregnant from the first transfer..I was very scared because I hade previous bad experiences with other clinics. But dr. Kustin is so knowledgeable, he helped me to achieve my dream. Besides, his staff are very nice and helpful.

I'm satisfied with my visit. I'm pregnant with my first transfer. I'm grateful to God who made it a success and I also thank Dr. Kustin for the work well done. Dr. Kustin was nice and friendly to me. Dr. Kustin was my fertility specialist for three children. I couldn't have been more happy with the care he provided or the outcomes!

Excellent services were provided by Dr Kustin and staff. Highly satisfied. I recommend this clinic to everyone looking forward to go for fertility treatments. The environment is patient friendly, answers all questions and make all arrangements according to patient need. So the patient is stress free and can achieve desirable results. Well done Doctor. Thanks to Dr. Kustin & his staff, I had successful IFV w/ PGD (after 1 egg retrieval, on the 2nd transfer attempt), and as I write this I am sitting across the room from my beautiful, healthy 1 week old daughter! My husband and I are over the moon and forever grateful for Dr. Kustin and his staff for their knowledge, skill, and care. I would recommend them in a heartbeat! A few things I would be remiss not point out: 1. The office is a little disorganized. They would probably benefit from having an extra person on staff in the office or implementing a better system. Expect to wait in the office sometimes. Bring a book or your laptop. 2. The estimate was more or less accurate, but there were a few unexpected bills we received after the fact. A little annoying, but we had a feeling there would be some extra costs. Lab tests and services provided after positive pregnancy test (but before you are released to your OB) are additional. 3. There are some eccentric personalities in the office,… not to mention the doc himself. If you read the other reviews, you already know this. True, Dr. Kustin is brash, but what I also learned during the course of my treatment is that he is a short-and-to-the-point kind of guy who values hard work and respect. Treat him the way you want to be treated, be polite, don’t expect special treatment or take things personally, and you’ll be fine. Dr. Kustin is extremely skilled at what he does, and will be straight you when he needs to. I actually really appreciated his logical approach, and think in this line of work, you probably have to emotionally compartmentalize in order to do it well! I felt he sincerely cared for my husband and I and wanted to do his very best to achieve a positive outcome. 4. Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself and be clear about your expectations, but know when to listen and trust. After our first (unsuccessful) transfer attempt, I had my own ideas about how best to proceed, but Dr. Kustin leveled with me and gave me what turned out to be very good, informed advice based on years of experience. I am SO thankful I trusted him and followed his advice because I feel this is why we were successful on our next attempt.

I did IVF with Dr. Kustin. My case was not simple. I am 41 had not kids before and my husband 56 has two kids.Four years we tried after my miscarriage, also we went to other doctor and did IVF but not successful.So I came to Dr. Kustin. He was not so optimistic about me. He check , remove polyps, which before other doctor suspects as endometriosis, and start working with us. So we have baby boy tree month old now.I am very pleasant to Dr. Kustin and him stuff and for Julie him assistant.

My husband and I would like to thank Dr Kustin and each and every staff member for making miracles happen every day, one being in our own lives! They are an AWESOME team. We got pregnant after our first IVF cycle.
