Dr. James Thomas Lin, MD

Went to see Dr. Lin for female urinary incontinence and I found him to be very attentive, caring and concerned with taking the time to explain his diagnosis in detail and making sure I understood exactly what he was saying. Overall, I found him to be very caring with a great personality. He did not rush, but took the right about of time so that it wasn't awkward being there.

If you want a copy of your medical records you better ask a year or two in advance. Did not help my pain at all. Did not even meet this Dr. until he was going to do a procedure on me in operating room

Dr. Lin has been taking care of my pain issues for several years now, and I am very satisfied with his treatment. He is kind, pays attention to what I tell him about my pain issues, and makes recommendations that are logical and cautious. He is not one to just give you pain medication and send you home. He investigates and treats according to what would ultimately be the best for your particular situation. One problem: his command of the English language is not strong enough to understand colloquialism or metaphors. I had to explain some things several times before he "got" what I was trying to say. When describing pain, it is important for the health care provider to understand what is being said. Ultimately we worked it out, but I wonder if other patients who are not versed in medical terminology are able to convey their problems adequately.

I would recommend that the office staff be more diligent in scheduling followup office visits especially when the followup pertains to medication refills. This should be a requirement for medication that can not be called into a pharmacy for refills. I do not feel that the office staff truly understands the downside to medication withdrawal and not being able to schedule a follow up appointment before the patients medication runs out. Dr. Lin is an excellent Dr in the office and when he had to manage my pain while I was admitted at the hospital. Dr. Lin should up early every morning I was in the hospital to address my pain concerns and made the necessary changes immediately in order to keep me comfortable.

Dr. Lin is truly exceptional in many ways. He possesses excellent bedside manner! Dr. Lin's communication skills are exemplary. He is extremely courteous and professional. He understood my complex, non-routine past medical history, and made thoughtful recommendations. I'd like to emphasize that I've seen numerous doctors over the years, and he is among the very best I've encountered. He is a role model. Our health-care system needs more physicians like Dr. Lin.

I've had epidurals from Dr. Lin and they really helped my back pain. I can function like a normal person now.
