My wife and I see him once a quarter. Very thorough. Does Q&A. Tells you what you need to do to get your levels in check and improved to get off the meds.

I first started seeing Dr. Magee after I moved to Jacksonville in 2001. Found him by searching for an endocrinologist on the web--didn't realize how lucky I was until after I met him. Continued to see him for both my Type 2 and thyroid on and off as I was traveling out of state a lot. During my last pregnancy, I didn't have health insurance for the first 5-6 months. Dr. Magee and a great direct entry Midwife at Fruitful Vine worked with me so that by the time I did have insurance and saw a perinatologist... everything was under control. My son was born healthy, with no issues--and was the best managed of all my pregnancies. I'm now in South Florida and am actually considering driving to JAX just to follow with Dr. Magee.

Managing diabetes or other endocrine diseases can be difficult. The concern I have is that others reach a different doctor to help them - one that cares and can see them! This doctor borders on just being plain rude and His staff ruder - it is challenging to get an appointment

He remembers you from visit to visit, info about you besides what's in the file. This is the specialist that is going to tell you that you are overweight (FAT). So deal with it - the truth hurts. Check your excuses at the door. Everybody's got some, and he's not buyin' it.They have dietitians to help you with your wt. Office staff is on the ball. EXCELLENT phlebotomist @ University location.

Dr. Magee is a very professional and caring doctor, he answer all of your questions and take the time not to rush doing it.

I've been going to Dr. Magee for years, and I'm known as a noncompliant patient. He unfailingly continues to instruct me in the correct ways to handle my diabetes, and is always professional and very knowledgeable. His nurse Karen is exceptional with follow-ups. She even called the emergency room to make sure I went after calling her about shortness of breath and chest pains. I highly recommend Dr. Magee; the only difficult thing with this highly competent doctor is getting an appointment quickly.
