Dr. Mapps is the best doctor I have ever seen. I miss him and hope he is doing well.

I know Dr. Mapps suffered a stroke and doesn't practice anymore, but I was his patient for a long time. If it wasn't for him, I would probably have attempted sucicide. He diagnosed me with severe depression and OCD and prescribed the correct meds and strength which helped me get better along with therapy. He was a genious and gave me knowledge that no one else could have given me. My life has turned around 180 degrees. I am so sad that he can no longer practice. My therapist referred me to him. I am so greatful for her too. Dr. Mapps and Vivian are the real true heros of my life. I hope you have a full and happy life Dr. Mapps.

Takes the time to perform tests for evaluation purposes and diagnosis. I have been to MANY Psychiatrists and Dr. James Mapps is near the top of the list.

Dr. Mapps was the BEST and most caring doctor we found. He suffered a stroke in 2009 and moved to the Bay area to be with his family and recover. I understand he is "doing well." We sure do miss him. Haven't been able to find another doctor who is as intelligent and kind as Dr. Mapps.
