Dr. James J Mooney, MD

I would direct any one of my family, friends, co-workers, etc. to Dr. Mooney in a heartbeat. I first met Dr. Mooney when I was 13 years old, and he was the first doctor who I felt truly cared. He not only cared about my health and the problems he could help me with in his scope of practice, but he looked, thought, and cared outside the box. He took every part of my pain, symptoms, etc. into consideration and looked at me as an entire person ... not just his square inch of specialty. He communicated, coordinated, and worked tirelessly with so many different specialists, and areas of my illnesses in order to find ways to give me the best quality of life I could have given my circumstances. He could always see past my cheerful "I'm good", knowing I was trying to be brave and work through my intense pain, and he cared about me as a person ... not just as a group of diseases. He cared about my ups and downs, my passions, my disappointments and struggles, etc. He cared about every single… aspect of me as a person, and THAT is more than any patient could ever ask for. He kept me out of the operation room, functioning as best as possible, and finding hope, for years. He holds such a special place in my heart still today, and I will never be able to fully express to him how incredibly grateful I am to have had him in my life. He was a doctor AND a dear friend, and I have never found another doctor like him.
