Dr. Neel is one of the greatest, most caring surgeons that I have ever met. I owe him my life. Last year, I was diagnosed with bacterial endocarditis that destroyed my mechanical aortic valve and weakened my aorta to the point that it completely shredded when I was on the operating table. Needless to say, I was gone for 8-12 minutes and Dr. Neel saved my life. My family and I will be forever grateful to you Dr. Neel. Rob aka "the Christmas Miracle"

I am a physician and also happen to be a patient as well. Dr. Neel is an excellent physician and specifically an excellent cardiothoracic surgeon. In his practice at Integris Baptist Medical Center, he deals with the most complex and sickest of patients from all around the state and region. I understand some may not completely grasp the inherent risk associated with surgery of the heart or lungs, but it is significant. All surgeons doing any surgery anywhere in the world will have complications. All will have deaths. That is a simple fact of operating on extremely sick patients. However, Dr. Neel has excellent training, fantastic technical skills, and his bedside manner and relationship with patients and families is simply remarkable. He truly cares about each and every one of his patients as well as their family members. He spends countless hours explaining everything involved with the surgical process from diagnosis to treatment to recovery in simple, plain details that… everyone can understand. I have read his negative review and feel this is simply not accurate. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, however posting such a volatile review upon the profile of such an outstanding young surgeon is simply unfair. I received EXCELLENT care from Jim, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone in my family who might need cardiovascular surgery in the future. The state of Oklahoma and specifically the city of Oklahoma City is lucky to have him back home.

It was easy to tell that Dr. Neel truly cares about his patients. He spent ample time discussing the surgery beforehand and taking care of me after surgery. He is available and responsive to patient issues before and after surgery. He has a wonderful nurse who helps him in clinic and in the hospital, Anastasia is the BEST!
