Dr. James J Park, DO

Great Neurologist I’ve been seeing him for over 20 years. I can’t believe all the negative reviews. I guess some people are just impatient or doesn’t understand what he does. The front office is very professional. He takes care of all my neurological problems and issues. He’s taken care of me and he listens to everything. He does the necessary testing to make sure that the necessary treatment is working. I’ve been to all his office before. When he had Garden Grove, Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley. I’ve lived in City of Anaheim, Orange County, City of San Diego, San Diego County and Currently in Los Angeles County.

He asks what us wrong. I tell him the symptoms, he says we all get stressed out. He chooses pills as a quick solution and then leaves me in the room, he is already half way to his office, He treated me in a such a rush visit.

The day after my dad died I had a seizure. I had explained to Dr. Park during every visit that I had been under tremendous stress for the past couple of years taking care of my dad, and dealing with family in-fighting regarding his care. Also, no history of any seizures in me or anywhere in my family. But, decided to take his recommendation for taking an anti-seizure drug. During visits, when I would once again explain that it was stress-related he would tell me that students taking the SAT test are stressed but they don't have seizures, like how silly was I being thinking stress had something to do with having a seizure. Now, after having taken the drug for five years, come to find out it is linked to Arthritis at such high correlation in patients as to be ignored, according to the scientific papers that were published. Now, I have to use a cane to get around, I am riddled with it in my spine and throughout my hips. I am generally done with trusting doctors or taking any other type of… medication. I let his credentials get the better of me. Reading these reviews I agree with the others, his attitude is unprofessional given that he belittles his patients, provides little information. Even though he knew about the effect (every doctor I've talked to said they know about the effect) he never mentioned it. Did he really make enough money off my taking the drug to allow him to sleep at night knowing he was damaging my bones?

Starting with the office staff of (one), I should have had indication that it starts from the top to the bottom. Trying to set up an appointment took two days. First call, was placed on hold with one ahead of me. Then after waiting 15 minutes a disconnect. Called back and there was a recording to leave a message and someone would return the call in 24 hours! No one returned the call. Next day, called same incident. After 4 attempts, got through to schedule an appointment. Appointment was set for 80 minutes for testing. I saw the doctor for 15 minutes and he did no testing and told me I most likely had post surgery injuries. How would he know if he did not test with an EMG needle/muscle test. He said he could not help me and did not understand why I was there! Perhaps it was because I was falling, lack of balance and I was regressing, not getting better! GO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Very passive, doesn’t spend time with you to figure out what’s going on ... just likes billing your insurance without putting in the effort to help you

This was a horrible experience. Dr Park assumed a diagnosis without proper evaluation. He based it solely on age and there was no regard to the actual issue. This appointment was useless and would not recommend going to this doctor.

He is most likely a good doctor but did not show the compassion for my concerns. He seemed to rush me out the door. However, the staff was friendly and great.

I have been seeing Dr. Park for over 10 years, since diagnosis. He is the best.

Dr. Park is nice enough when being seen but that is as far as it goes. Being nice does not get you a diagnosis. We have seen him 3 times and are no closer to finding out what is wrong with me. Last visit he didn't have all the results of my blood test, I had to leave his office and call quest myself. He doesn't want to see me for 4 months with no other tests being run. They had 5 weeks to get the results and I even called the office 3 times to make sure they had them. Appointments will be made every 2 to 4 months. He just doesn't care so save time and find someone else.
