Dr. James Eugene Pollard, MD

These people have been sending me bills after bills after stating that the total was already paid out the day of my surgery two years ago. I try to find the website to pay this even though it’s obviously fraudulent, and they try to milk money from people, and can’t access anything. I wouldn’t even suggest going to them because the work they do is average at best. Had a few teeth removed and they insisted upon continuously keeping me under even though they stated the procedure took less than half an hour. I got charged for being under for a whole entire hour. They stated that my other teeth were fine and didn’t need removed, but a week after surgery a tooth next to one that was removed was decaying obviously, and chipped. Most likely from the surgery. This is why we don’t go to dentists. Stop doing bad jobs. Period.

From the staff to Dr Pollard, Excellent treatment. I had serveral teeth pulled. Everyone was Awesome. I’m having absolutely No Pain, best surgery I have ever had. I definitely recommend Dr. Pollard and his staff ??????????????????????

I had to take my fifteen-year-old daughter in for oral surgery a couple of weeks ago she had to have two molars removed. She is autistic, she's rather sensitive to pain and we have a family history of locals not working well for us, so everyone agreed that she needed to be put under general anesthesia for the procedure. her regular dentist doesn't do that, and the oral surgeon they work for doesn't do that either. so I called my insurance company and they referred me to dr. Pollard in Sulphur they're the only oral surgeons on our policy they told me that they wouldn't do it either. After some digging I finally found a local oral surgeon who would ...dr. Boudreaux here in Lake Charles. they did the procedure everything was fine no problems.. the only bad thing is I had to pay for the entire procedure cash because my insurance company wouldn't pay them. then today I was speaking to someone on another group and discovered that dr. Pollard does general anesthesia all the time! so I called… his office and guess what ? they straight-up admitted to me with no problem whatsoever that they just don't like working with special needs children ! the only reason they refused to do service on her is because she's autistic. Please let anybody that you know who might have a special needs child be aware of this before they take their child in ...and I would highly suggest you consider an another provider entirely , someone who does not discriminate against children based off of something that they can't control. I will be contacting Blue Cross Blue Shield to let them know so they can be removed from their provider list and they can find another more suitable dentist in the area.

I was a total anxiety case, had teeth removed, excellent admistering iv (sleep med)out in less than 1minute. Seen Dr. Pollard several times, even my children have been to see him for wisdom teeth extraction. Had to wait but understanding that every patient has different problem and he makes sure that all is taken care of when in his care. I will highly recommend him to all my friends and family

My family has used dr pollard 3 times. We have all 3 times had positive experiences. Today included. I believe reasonable expectations of service may have decreased reviews by others. For instance, late for appointment and having to wait.... Well guess what? Sometimes it takes longer then the expected time... Get over it. Pain level?? Having teeth pulled hurts. I have never had a bad experiance with him or his office staff. For those that have I am sorry. But for us, I will continue to recommend.

Very rude. Undermined my fear of being there, and very rough when inserting the IV and when putting the cuff on my arm. As a young woman, I was very uncomfortable.

I went today and had 7 bottom teeth pulled two of which were wisdom teeth. I was a nervous wreck about being put to sleep. The staff was excellent. Dr. Pollard was very comforting and very professional. I had minimal pain and tonight I have very little swelling and very little pain. I was extremely pleased and would definitely recommend him for any procedure. I also would like to thank his staff for the compassion and care. I also arrived early for my appointment but was seen promptly.

Worst doctor I've ever been to... The guy is a weirdo.. After a week of having gotten my wisdom teeth removed I'm still in excruciating pain with a huge knot on my jaw now. The staff is rudeeeeeee and the place reeks of smoke.. If I never have to go near that place again it'll be too soon

Saw him in Orange in 2009 right before I got married. 4 years later I still have lasting nerve damage from a wisdom tooth he pulled. half of my face at my jaw has been numb ever since. Followed up with him and he said it happens and there isnt much he or I could do about it... Absolutely do not recommend!
