Dr James Edward Ramseur Jr., MD

I went to see a doctor before Ramseur and she was horrible! Treated me like cattle, never explained anything for me to understand, and completely ignored my fiancé who is the father of my child. She then dropped me without an explanation or recommending another doctor. Finally I found ramseur who would take my insurance and would accept new patients. At first I was scared seeing a male about my feminine parts and my first baby, but he was so welcoming and warm! It wasn’t uncomfortable at all! And he didn’t sugar coat anything. When it comes to the health of me and my baby I like an honest doctor. I found out I have VCI which my last doctor never told me about and he explained what it was in a way I could understand and said what it can cause. He was honest and said that he can’t promise anything but his best and that’s all I could ask. He’s been monitoring the growth, recommending me to specialists for my epilepsy, and keeping up with how things are going. He’s been really patient with… me and made this pregnancy go so smooth!

Dr Ramsuer is amazing, he's been my Dr for several years and I am so thankful to have had him guide me through my first and now second pregnancy and always be a top notch care provider. He is human, and personable which is a skill that so many drs seem to loose given their busy and demanding lifestyles. He is the type of Dr that we desperately need more of, I have never felt silly, stupid or crazy for asking questions and he always takes his time to answer any questions even if I start them by saying "so I read on the internet...". Additionally, I have never left his office without a smile because everyone that works there is kind, friendly and accommodating. They are busy but do an incredible job of answer questions and helping out where ever needed.

Unfriendly staff. I hated interacting with his nurse. He was great in the office but it was night and day in delivery. He asked me if I wanted to ruin his dinner because I asked him to wait since I was feeling anxious and tired. He also was a jerk to me during pushing. Asked me why I was groaning... I was trying to get a baby out and it hurt?? Once the baby came he was back to this nice person as if nothing had ever happened. I don’t recommend him to anyone unless you can deal with someone like that when you are tired.

The lady at the front who talks on the phone... She's extremely rude. She gives you a "why are you so dumb?" look as well as "I'm so irritated right now" voice if you make a mistake or ask questions. Why should I feel judged by the first face that is supposed to serve me and make me feel comfortable to see the doctor? I also noticed that she seems to take delight in the fact that appointments are so hard to get. Also, the waits are long for the appointments and within the office. The only and best thing about this office is Dr. Ramseur himself! He's friendly and very helpful.

I was unable to even make an appointment with the unfriendly staff member who answers the phone. The staff member was unfriendly and would not answer my questions. I was just told to leave my phone number and they would call back sometime later and let me make an appointment. After waiting three days with no response I called only to be told that maybe I would get a call next week. On top of that, she acted as though I was a nuisance and should not be bothering her. Finally, I called another doctor on the peninsula. Within five minutes with a friendly staffer I was able to make an appointment. All I know about Dr. Ramseur is that he made a poor choice when deciding who he wants to represent him on the phone. He may be a great doctor but I could not deal with the staff long enough to ever find out.

What my doctor does not know about me is that I was sexually abused as a child. And as an adult I have been healed, but when it comes to PAPS I end up crying on the exam table. DR Ramsuer was so professional and has such a GREAT sense of humor. When it was time for the PAP it happened so fast and with ease and I was actually laughing because Doctor had me in stiches. I never felt so at ease during a PAP. Thank you Doctor for sharing your gift to the world.

Dr. Ramseur has delivered my first children. He was absolutely wonderful. He has great bedside manner and made me feel completely comfortable at every appt and delivery. I'm currently pregnant with my third and look forward to delivery.
