Dr. Jennifer Faith Zeidberg, MD

Do not recommend. This place is soulless. After a decade of not seeing me, this doc didn't remember me. I look exactly the same. A good doc who cares about their patients- and their patient returning, at that- would definitely notice details. Communication and coordination with this office is awful. I gave up without getting my needs met in the past. Not offering your patients a secure portal or effective methods to coordinate is old-school and unprofessional. It's like they dodge people.

I don't trust this office staff or doctor to take care of my needs. For a business that is supposed to provide healthCARE, I am deeply dissatisfied by the treatment I received here. I constantly had to call back and check up on pending tests and issues after the initial treatment plan was under effect. I agree with other clients who reviewed them- the front office staff are RUDE plain and simple; have no empathy or sympathy for you when communicating with you over the phone, consistently sound very cold when answering the phone and just unhelpful. I was told when I made my appt that I would get some kind of confirmation (email or text), I got neither, when I brought it up with the receptionist on arrival she said 'oh yeah, we don't send email confirmations anymore." The biggest reason I give this rating is this doctor consistently has behaved with me as if she doesn't care - rushing off the phone to hang up, not answering all of my questions or even asking me if I have questions… at the end of an appointment; and talking while walking out of the exam room, even went as far to continue talking while the door was closed between me and her! I don't find this respectful with any person let alone with a patient. The doctor was judgmental to me and my situation on my first appointment and jumped to conclusions about me without ever having met me before that. I was instructed by the MD to get an over the counter medication for specific symptoms without specifications on dose, which I did yet left my issue unresolved, so I called back and explained that I was still in pain and significant discomfort and she had no answer or accountability of not telling me the specific dose of the OTC medication. This makes sense why her staff behave similarly and now I know where they get it from. One thing I will mention I liked about this MD was she is considerate of the financial costs of healthcare to her patients. I would never recommend a friend or family to this business because I feel like a person seeking a OB GYN or any doctor should be treated with dignity, respect and courtesy; more importantly trust with their OB GYN and in my experience I did not get that.

Could the front desk people be better? Yep. But I would struggle with insurance and prescriptions problems a hundred times worse if I had to go back in time and that was the condition of having her as my dr vs anyone else. I had three living daughters when I came to Dr Zeidberg born full term at 5 lbs 14oz, then 35 weeks 3 lbs 8oz, then 30 weeks 2 lbs 2 oz. My husband and I wanted one more baby and somewhat fearfully tried for our last knowing full well that babies born before 30 weeks and less than 2 lbs 2 oz don’t always make it. After a miscarriage we were blessed to move to the Monterey area and meet Dr. Zeidberg. Within the first visit she was able to identify a health issue that required a change in multivitamin and a daily baby aspirin for most of the pregnancy. My baby born full term at 7lbs 2oz is snuggling with me as I write this. I will be forever grateful to this woman for my beautiful daughter and her healthy start in life.

I wrote this letter to Dr. Zeidberg, and no one contacted me back, so I coming to every review website I can find. So please read before coming to this office. The biggest problem I had was being able to get a hold of anyone. When I was in pain and concerned about the well-being of my child, it took nine days to get help. And that is only because I came down to the office unannounced and demanded a same day appointment with her, which I hate doing. It is imperative that there be a system set in place for questions by patients even if the doctor is unavailable. Having a nurse to answer patient’s questions is a good idea and every doctor’s office I did not feel valued as a patient or that my concerns were heard, and I can’t risk that for my child. The second problem is the staff. I have never experienced such rudeness from someone in customer relations before. I had had enough by the time I left this office. Every time I called or spoke with the front desk staff they were curt,… unhelpful, or would flat out give me misinformation. For instance, if I called to try and talk to the doctor and asked when she would be back in the office, I actually got “she’ll be in when she’s in.” Or when I called and asked for my records I was told I could pick them up that day, but when I came in to get them they had completely forgotten, gave me attitude, and then told me it would be 7-10 days. That is unacceptable behavior. And I don’t believe I am the only one. If you look at this yelp page, every single one of the one-star reviews is not about the doctor. It’s about the staff. And when the receptionist was giving me attitude about the records I ended up being approached by several patients in the waiting room complaining to me about their attitudes as well. I have worked in customer relations (including as a medical receptionist) for over 15 years, so I know what it takes to be good at that job, and this staff is not up to par. I believe this office could greatly improve by simple staffing and procedure upgrades. Hire someone to take calls and questions, and hire someone that can be trusted to be the face of the practice.

wish I could give a negative -100 from this doctor. Here’s why: The day of my wife’s C-section, her son was sick. During the procedure, She was texting on her phone during this same procedure. She slipped her phone back in her pocket. The wife saw this too. After speaking with another hospital, stating all hospitals have video feed in operating rooms. The HR denied that this doctor did such a thing, but “slashed” the bill in half!...?... HR STATED, “all staff must have their personal items locked in a locker before entering a procedure room. Not in this case... Not in this case... Please! Any future moms. Please. Do. Not. See. This. Doctor!!! To educate yourselves, research what has been found on cell phones...outside of your common germs...

Dr. Z is awesome! I have been a patient now for 4 years. Things haven't been perfect, but she always takes care of her patients. She is gentle, kind, patient, just over-all awesome. She will discuss any and everything concern you have until you are comfortable! Only caution in this tale, is just be aware that her front desk staff may not be as friendly as you were hoping. But the doc is totally worth it! Love Doc Z!

She is the most difficult Dr I ever see before

I can't stress enough of how great of a gyno/ob Dr. Zeidberg is. She is so sweet and very informative. One of the only Doctors left in Monterey that actually CALLS her patients back! Her staff is so sweet as well. Had an ultrasound that had some scary findings and she fit me into her schedule ASAP to calm me down and talk about a plan. Turned out to be nothing but I felt so comfortable and felt like I was in great hands. Only person I'll trust when its time to have babies! If you need a good, sweet,caring and relatable Doctor, Dr. Zeidberg is your gal!

She was a great support for me when I went into premature labor. I had only seen her once before I went into labor and several times after giving birth. We had moved here a month before I went into labor and she got me connected with the hospital, birthing classes, hospital tour, etc. Not only that but she eased my fears when I went into labor since I had no time to do any of the classes before I had my daughter. She went above and beyond and she was extremely calm and very motivational.

I was sent to Dr. Zeidberg after the initial OB i was seeing decided that she would retire and not practicing anymore due to her own health conditions, this to some women would be a shock and maybe even have the feeling of seperation aniexty. However, this was the best thing for my pregnancy, which by the way had complications; seeing UCSF Nurses and Doctors, going to the ER three times in my second trimester to get my gallblader taken out at 17 weeks. I was 36 weeks when i first saw Dr. Zeidberg she is beyond attentive, cares about not only the well being of your baby but you and your surrondings. I am a first time mom and thanks to her and her calm demanor I was in labour for 10 hours and pushed for 10 mins. My son is 5 months now and I am always glad to see her! SO, haha, basically she is one of the BEST, if not the BEST, OB/GYN's in the Monterey County!
