Dr. James L Sarni, MD

My initial visit with Dr. Sarni was very thorough and informative. After having an x-ray, the PA at my primary care office said I had severe arthritis in my right shoulder. Dr. Sarni read the images and realized a have a broken collarbone that was recently re-broken however, I had never been diagnosed with any original break. I will continue my care from Dr. Sarni as I believe him to be very thorough and extremely knowledgeable in shoulder injuries.

I enjoyed care given by Dr Sarni. As a health care provider myself, I know how important it is to listen to your patients. I was able to get a solution that worked for me. Dr Sarni is a great doctor and I am thankful to have seen him.

Not professional ??

Saw Dr. Sarni at MGH in 2015. I had 2 herniated discs in my lower back, confirmed by an MRI. He recommended a cortisone shot...with no success. Then he recommended the Boot Camp PT program ---- push through your pain and do all kinds of crazy bending and lifting exercises --- which rapidly accelerated my back deterioration. I was in serious pain and could barely walk. Went to see him again; his only comment was pain meds. Within 2 days, I ended up hospitalized at MGH for 6 days on serious pain meds. Second MRI showed worsened L4/L5/S1 disc conditions. I switched my back doctor, and took a much more conservative approach to PT, which ultimately was successful w/o the need for surgery. His advice unfortunately was way off base for me. I wasted 2 months trying is recommendations.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sarni since about 2010. I have had two spinal cortisone injections without any hesitation or mishap. I have been treated expeditiously and with respect at all time. I have recommended numerous friends to Dr. Sarni and entrusted my son's back after a fracture to him. That should say enough.

I just saw Dr. Sarni today and I have to say, he was unbelievable! He spent almost an hour with me explaining things with my knee and then working with me to develop the plan of care I wanted. He was so accommodating and really took the time to hear me out. I was so nervous going in to the appt., thinking of all these hypothetical situations, and I really was surprised with how great I felt after. Such a sincere and respectful doctor, I would definitely recommend him!

Worst experience ever with a doctor. He triple books patients so the hallways outside the office are filled with patients waiting for hours in excruciating pain. I waiting three hours, for an appointment that took 6 months to get. This is to see a doctor for extreme spine pain!!! His answer for EVERYTHING is a cortisone injection. That's pretty much his thing and from what I can see all he does. During my procedure he got very nervous and sweaty and get digging around in my spine because he couldn't get the injection. He seemed so panicked I told he that maybe you should stop if you are having issues. Even the nurse was looking frightened at this point. He kept right on going. Later when the local had worn off I tried to get up and couldn't stand. I was in the worst pain ever, even worse then I'd started. I thought I was going to be crippled for life. Luckily after a couple weeks that got better but that back pain had gotten much worse. Things have never been the same after that… injection, one of my worse decision ever was going to see this guy. All I can say is look at his eyes in that picture, he looks like a madman. He gets this weird look in his eye when he talks about pain and how it used to be used for torture.

worst Dr I have seen-worst temperament-worst bedside manner stay away from this guy!!

Dr. Sarni is very professional , confident , and is was spot on , in my diagnosis and treatment.

I was hesitant about this appointment after reading these reviews. Well I was pleasantly surprised and really liked Dr. Sarni. I brought my husband with me as another set of ears. Dr. Sarni has a game plan for me that I feel hopeful about and I am looking forward to treatment.
