Takes time to Explain diagnosis and procedure completely and in a manner so I understood everything completely.

I was referred to his office from the e.r. I had gone in with a broken ankle. He saw me for about 20 seconds, told me I needed surgery, did not explain anything to me. When I asked him what would happen if I didn't get surgery, he replied, in a sardonic way, that I would get arthritis. It wasn't until I visited another much more professional doctor that I learned the severity of my fracture.

I went to Dr. Schiappa for knee pain. I told him my patella was extremely painful.He took x-rays and told me he thought my fibula was broken. He sent me for an MRI of the leg (totally neglected the knee pain). Went back for follow-up still in pain. He sent me for therapy with the therapists in his office which caused my spinal problems to act up and made my knee hurt even more. Went back for another follow-up and he told me there was nothing wrong and gave me a script for Demerol knowing that I'm on Fentanyl patches and a slew of other pain meds for other conditions. I went to another Dr. and had an MRI. I have Grade IV chondromalacia of the patella, joint effusion and torn cartilage! Plus I needed a bilateral epidural because of the pain caused by the therapists. Good job in your incorrect diagnosis Dr.!!!!!! I would not recommend this Dr to anyone.
