Dr. James Joseph Sferra, MD

I couldn't be happier with a surgeon, as I am with Dr. Sferra. I originally planned on someone else to do my surgery, but a friend recommended him. I love that he was patient. Explained everything. His staff is awesome. I have to give a shout out to his nurse Sara. She went above and beyond when I had an emergency situation come up. She worked me into her schedule within an hour and took care of my problem. She is an awesome compliment to a great team. I can't say enough how pleased I am, that Dr. Sferra did my surgery.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor! I felt as though he completely brushed me off because my injury was non surgical. Left me with no advice on where to go next and not even referral on who he thought could help. Simply told me surgery won’t help you and I can’t help you! The man just wants the big money!

This Doctor does NOT know what he is doing. I will never use him again. I have had 3 surgeries and getting ready to go for the 4th. Do not let him do a bunionectomy, peroneal tendon surgery. He also did a foot fusion and messed it up too. This doctor needs his license removed. My new doctor told me he couldn't even figure out what this doctor was trying to accomplish. I am in burning horrendous pain 24 hours a day. If I could, I would give you zero stars.

My foot since my ankle surgery is worse than before. I am currently seeing another doctor to see if anything can be done, I even have broken bones in my foot that I did not have before my surgery. Going to have to have more surgery. Never will use Dr. Sferra again. He did not fix my problem, only made it a lot worse. I now barely can walk after a year. I am just sick about all this, and utterly disgusted what he did to me.

Had the misfortune of having him operate on my foot and ankle Never solved my problem. My foot and ankle are worse now than before.----seven months and counting When inquired why this is, he abruptly said there is nothing he can do and left the office.. No compassion or concern. Why kind of doctor let alone human being is this?

Run from this office. He lies and does not follow the medical guidelines!

This dr spends maybe 10 mins with you. He does not show you your X-rays, doesn't explain anything to you and gives you no course of action for the future or a prognosis. His bed side manner is terrible, and his office staff knows nothing. My advice is to look for another dr.

I was pleased with the initial surgery, however, the aftercare is what I'm disappointed in. Not being given detailed information as to what I am supposed to do to prevent possible problems doesn't help. Being given information after the fact doesn't help me prevent future problems. And waiting until I bring something to your attention, instead of you addressing it to begin with, doesn't help me either.

Dr. Sferra is knowledgeable and skilled, BUT the experience with his secretary is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. It seems that her main goal is to offend the patient from the second you hear her voice on the phone. She jumps to conclusions and then indirectly belittles the patient even when she is at fault.She is BY FAR the worst secretary I have ever seen in my 50+ years of dealing with hospital personnel. You will see what I'm talking about after spending 10 seconds on the phone with her. I would never suggest Dr. Sferra to anyone strictly because of her. NOTHING else needs to be said. YIKES!
