Dr. James M Shiflett, MD

Dr. Shiflett is an amazing surgeon.

"Dr." James Shiflett performed my first back surgery in 2009. I have had 3 surgeries on my back to correct the mess he made out of my back. he woke me up at 11 o'clock in the hospital on the night of the surgery to tell me that when he got in there my bones were so overgrown that he had to take out a section of bone. This was nothing that I had signed a consent for, nothing that had been discussed and was not to be a part of this routine back surgery. When it came time for my post op check up I was told that Dr. Shiflett was no longer with University Neurosurgeons, and that I would be seen by another doctor in the group. I obtained a copy of my medical records and those contained incorrect information. I would advise you to do a great amount of research especially on education and training of anyone that's going to operate on your back. I have lived in constant pain for the past 6 years and have been in pain management for four and a half. Please take great care with anyone you allow… to operate on your back.

The wait time in the office to see Dr. Shiflett was approx.. 1 1/2 hrs. but that is common for an appointment when his office is at the hospital. He was very courteous and very good with us and the baby. We found he had an excellent bedside manner. We found him to be very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had promptly. We would recommend him with confidence.

I was not impressed with how cocky acting he was. Then to see he only has 5 years experience really makes me doubt the things we were told by him.
