Dr. James Kenneth Smedegard, MD

I have seen Dr. Smedegard since 2010 and found him to be very professional. He was very knowledgeable with options for me and discussing my issues even better than any psychologist could prior to seeing him. I appreciated his views of my condition by me keeping an open mind to what I was experiencing. The issues I had in the past were of a different nature than they are now at the present time. When I went to make an appointment to see him again I was told he retired. Hoping Dr. Smedegard reads this because he was most helpful with assisting me in getting over my past issues and I wish to thank him.

Basically told my depressed/suicidal son that it was all in his head and to think happy thoughts. Then the office changed incorrect co-pays, claimed I didnt pay and I had to send proof.

The most uncaring person. Could careless about his patients wellbeing. During the visit I went with my husband, he never looked at us. Acted like we were bothering him. Do see this man if you're looking for help. One star is to good for him.

Does not listener to patient or parental concerns. Does not give any feed back to improve conditions. Just signs the medication form, no changes, sends out the door. Waist of time for over a year with that office.

He is an ego centric, passive aggressive person. He only knows best. No collaboration with any other doctors

This arrogant egotistical man should not be practicing medicine! He doesn't listen, likes to hear himself talk, dismisses anything you have to say and is not all that knowledgeable about meds. Don't waste your time!

He is a very arrogant and negative person. He is definitely in the wrong field and should not be working to help patients when all he does is give his bleak and pessimistic views and does not care about the person and their life. Very terrible experience.

Dr. Smedegard is definitely in the wrong business. I have never met a more incompetent doctor in my entire life. His only job is to write prescriptions and collect his paycheck. He is rude, cold, arrogant and just doesn't give a darn about his patients. He lacks professionalism and should seek another profession. He is a horrible doctor. Avoid him at all costs.

Asked my teenage son if he had thoughts of killg himself, he answered "No". He replied then you don't need to be here!
