Dr. James A Stoever, DO

I was very happy with my first visit. Everything was very thorough, I felt that he listened and was willing to work with me. The staff was pleasant, both in person and on the phone. Overall, at this point I am happy.

Stovier is only interested in the money part of the practice. his staff changes as quickly as I change clothes. you never see the same person twice. I think the only person that stays with him is his wife and that is because he is married to him. the employees don't care, and are rude when you call the office. He does not talk with you he just looks at his computer. he can't look you in the eye. He treats you like you are dumb and don't have a clue about your medical problems.

I have been going to Dr Stoever for over 2 years. He is a very caring and helpful doctor. He takes time to speak with me about my labs each visit and explain where I am in my health and if anything needs to be changed.

I had not slept in 26 hours I called to reschedule, was on hold for20 minutes. I discussed it 4 different employees. All said they could not do anything about it. After 40 minutes of waiting the nurse evaluated me, B.P. was high. I discussed it with her and she said well we you signed a waiver about cancellation fees ($50). Then said " you don't have to be here, you can leave. Upon my exit I slammed examination room door and was telling the scheduling clerk when Dr. Stover told me I need to leave. I said, do you want me to reschedule he replied no leave and told checkout clerk to give me a full refund. I guess it is all about the cash flow and he doesn't want to know what is going on in his clinic. No follow up by him to address issues. Do no harm? Just do not care!

Avoid this doctor. He is rude, obnoxious and cares only about the money.

A Dr that actually listens and treats patients by more than just the numbers. Super staff is always helpful. I'll never change.This man saved my life more than once and I thank God everyday for him.

MY ONLY WISH WAS THAT HE COULD NOT BE CLONED SO IT WOULD BE EASIER TO SEE HIM MORE OFTEN, HE IS EXCELLENT AND HIS STAFF ALSO.

In the time I went here (2011-2013), the staff was incredibly rude every time I called and visited. There were appointments where I've had to wait nearly two hours to get in. There were a few times where I'd receive phone calls about my blood work, and they mixed up my previous a1c as the latest. Also, they prolonged to tell me that I had hypothyroidism; all they did was call me to say I have a prescription for levothyroxine, and 'it might be temporary'? I have neutral feelings toward Dr Stoever; he wasn't mean or inconsiderate, but he wasn't truly friendly either. But the unprofessional staff and long wait times for a 10-20 minute appointment made me dread going here, and I'm glad I don't have to anymore.

I see a lot of reviews saying Dr. Stoever's attitude needs adjusting, and at one time I agreed. He was downright mean to me during one of my appointments. Then it hit me. He was kind and professional from the day I started. I didn't follow his recommendations, was lax in my testing, and was by all accounts shooting myself in the foot (I'm diabetic). He became less kind and more adversarial. I left the "mean" appointment really angry. I couldn't believe a doctor would talk to me and treat me that way. But, I started testing more often and taking better care of my condition (mostly because I wanted to prove the jerk wrong). The next appointment, he was kind again. He congratulated me on my sudden turnaround, and I understood. He'd done exactly what I needed him to do. I've had my diabetes under tight control ever since and, coincidentally, Dr. Stoever's been great. Give credit where credit is due. He doesn't mince his words when it comes to saving your life, If you need a kick… in the butt, he'll give it to you, and you should be thanking him for that.

From my first visit to this person, sorry but can't call him a doctor, he seemed uncaring. Looked at me as if I was just another Mexican (probably thought I was an illegal alien) . Didn't converse with me with a "let's see what we can do for you" attitude. Checked me over briefly and gave me an Rx and sent me on my way. Most of the info given me by this guy was on the negative side with no real care about trying to get relief for my problem. I would not recommend this person to anyone. I've met good and some not so good doctors in the army and in the civilian world, this quack is the worst.
