Dr. James Michael Swinehart, MD

I thank god everyday for Dr. Swinehart. He’s the best dermatologist in Denver, and has helped me for years!

I am a 75 year old woman who grew up in Florida, basking in the wonderful sunshine for the first 18 years of my life. We never heard of the word, “sunscreen”, and now I have numerous skin cancers. But thanks to Dr. Swinehart, I am removing them with Mohs treatment. I have had four people that I know personally pass away from skin cancer, all of which passed away either because they were misdiagnosed or because they waited too long to do anything about their skin cancer. It was horrible for their families, and I don’t want anyone to have the same experience. I’m writing this review, so that you pick the right doctor, Dr. Swinehart. He’s found all of my cancers early, and doesn’t employ the notion of watchful waiting, but is proactive. I’ve had five procedures done by him, and all of them have gone seamlessly. Each MOHs procedure was simply local anesthesia, pleasant music, and a few stitches. I couldn't recommend Dr. Swinehart enough!

If only I could leave less than 1 star, I would. I have never written a review on anything before but my experience with Dr. Swinehart was so horrible, I feel compelled to help spare others. Do yourself a favor and find any other dermatologist (hair and skin specialist). Dr. Swinhart gave me wrong information/medical advice in our meeting (which he also put in writing and gave me), including a wrong prescription order. I've tried to call the office multiple times, just to get a correct prescription order, but I've only been left with rude comments and no resolution. Please find yourself someone who is more knowledgeable and respectful.

I have been going to see Dr. Swinehart for many years. I suffered with severe acne as a kid and as a result I gained deep scarring on my face. I've had several services to take care of the scarring, performed by Dr. Swinehart, which dramatically improved my appearance. This of course helped me to secure my confidence in a world that judges people by appearance. I can tell you that Dr. Swinehart really cares about his patients, all over Colorado. He is compassionate, direct, listens, and will give you the results you are hoping for. Thank you Dr. Swinehart for your help over the years!!! I truly appreciate you and recommend you highly.

My experience with Dr. Swinehart was very positive. His care was excellent. I recently had MOHS surgery on my face and it is healing very nicely. I have found him to be very knowledgeable and he answers my questions fully. I am very pleased with his care. I would recommend him to everyone.

Doctor Swinehart is an outstanding dermatologist and I highly recommend him. He is willing to answer patient questions and describe skin problems and procedures in a way that the patient can understand. He is also very alert to detecting skin cancers before they have progressed to the point of becoming life threatening. His main concern is saving lives by removing skin cancers before they can harm the patient.

Dr. Swinehart is awesome. I had squamous cell skin cancer two years ago and he was able to perform Mohr's Micrographic surgery in his office and remove all cancerous cells! He's a life saver!
