Dr. James Arthur Sylora, MD

I was referred to Dr Sylora by another nurse who had worked with him. He is a wonderful doctor. He is down to earth, easy to talk to. I am grateful to be his patient! If you need a very good doctor, take it from a nurse he is the one you need!

Was a patient of Dr Syloris for a few years. He provided me with good medical advice concerning my health issue. His biggest downfall is the manner in which he provided me with his bedside manner, he was not the least bit reassuring or professional to me when it came to helping me with my condition. I will not be returning.

i was sent to do a CT scan to a medical facility he owns , one week went by after the scan was completed and Dr. Sylora never bothered to call me and go over the results, i called the office and the help desk told me that he'll be calling me later that day, another week went by and he still hasn't called me. Horrible experience!!! will never go back there ever again.

What Dr. Sylora lacks in people skills & service is more then made up for in his 20 years of experience as a urologist. Bottom-line: I'd rather have a cutting edge Doctor skilled in dealing with bladder cancer, then a well spoken salesman. I'd highly recommend Dr. Sylora! and no I'm not related to him :)

He took care of my prostate cancer. I was told to see him by our medical and nursing contacts, because he does more of the robotic prostate surgery than anyone else in the South suburbs of Chicago. I did wait a long time to see him, almost 1 hour. He explained everything about my problem in plain english. All my options were given to me, even a third opinion was offered at the university. He took his time. He explained the possible problems from surgery and radiation. What to expect in detail. He did the robotic surgery for me at Little Company. It went very well. All the recovery issues he described were accurate. I am extremely happy with the results. Out of the hospital in 1 day. PSA is zero. No pads and no need for Viagra after 1 month. Would recommend highly, just be prepared to wait. It was worth it for me.

The work he did on me was so exceptional that other professionals have remarked requesting to know who did the procedure because they had never seen such an exceptional job. He is absolutely my number one choice in Urology.

I had an excellent experience with Dr Sylora, but he is always running late. He takes as much time as needed to take care of me. I did not understand this till I was diagnosed with prostrate cancer. He spent about an hour discussing all the options available, including robotic surgery and radiation, seeds, etc. I had the robotic surgery and have done great. Out of the hospital the next day. No leakage and still getting it up without Viagra. PSA is zero for the last 3 years. I could not be more pleased. The other prostate cancer patients tell me he is always late but gives you all the time you need. I just bring a book now or call ahead. His assistant has helped.

He recommended radiation for minor prostate cancer. I sought a second opinion and my second urologist at the University of Chicago told me that I just needed surgery and no radiation. Turns out that Dr. Sylora owns his own radiation center and probably just wanted to earn some extra cash -- and offering more medical advice just to earn a few extra bucks.
