Dr. James Brooks Tyree, MD

Very condescending and not thorough at all. He did not suggest tests that could have been appropriate, just dismissed the whole thing, did not bother to look for a cause and now I am getting worse and I had to seek a second opinion somewhere else. Avoid.

It wasnt the wait time that bothered me. It was the doctors just lack of concern or effort to learn about my condition and treatments. I just sit there telling him about my condition and the treatments and he just says mhmm and nods his head. Then if i ask a question he doesnt know the answer or just looks at me like Im crazy. I get it hes overbooked and tired but i suffer in pain everyday and i deserve a uro that will educate himself to properly treat me and not be condescending when i try to educate myself to make up for his lack of help. I want to switch uros but Im afraid they might all be this way. Plus the secretary told me if i want to switch dr. Tyree has to approve it which he could choose not to. So frustrating!!! Choose a different urologist.

Dr. Tyree, and i use this term loosely, seems to be extremely aggravated with his job. He prescribed my grandmother a medication not recommended by the FDA and had a fit when i asked if he can prescribe something else. I was given the run around by his staff for a week until he, personally, called me. I answered and was never even given the opportunity to get a word it. He told me that his staffed had wasted enough time trying to get her the medication she needed. He stated that he is a physician and he recommends the meds. he prescribed my grandma and had no concerns about what the FDA sought to be a more fit recommendation. I am so surprised by the character of this physcian.

Might have been a bad day, but on my first visit to Dr Tyree, my appointment time, which I was ten minutes early for, did not get met until thirty minutes after the time scheduled. The care, procedures, and his personal and professional manner were very good.

I see this dr once a year and lately he doesnt even consult me.And it just happened that i was developing a problem.His nurse takes a sample of the urine and then he comes in the examining room making superficial conversation . He is getting lazy ,I am thinking does this count like a visit ??

I would see this doctor with caution. He made my matter worse,which is a life long problem. I am undergoing corrective surgery. He does things without discussing before surgery. Think of him as a mad Scientist! I have suffered dearly because of his experimental procedurs during my surgery. Please pick some one else!
