Dr. James M Whisenand, MD

I am a 37-year-old who's had a mental illness since I was an adolescent. For 15 years, I searched for a psychiatrist who could actually help me. Dr. Whisenand is the only one who has given me a diagnosis that makes sense and prescribes medicine that actually keeps me balanced. He is one of two doctors at his location who probably saved my life, in the least, saved me from making some very poor decisions regarding my occupation. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment. It does take a few months to get an appointment with him; however, that is normal in a city such as Champaign where the good doctors are busy and in high demand. He is nice, energetic, and honest, and each appointment is at least 30 minutes, so he actually takes time to know you before making any decisions about treatment.
