Dr. James Edward Wilson, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Wilson's since 2013, initially referred to him by Dr. Brayton to assist with my cervical injury, and would trust no other with my pain management care. Dr. Wilson truly cares about his patients, & always takes as much time as needed. He has performed numerous injections/procedures, handles my ongoing pain management, and is able to navigate the monumental mess of work comp - which of course includes specific documentation and depositions. I cannot express the level of trust I have in Dr. Wilson, and would recommend him to any and everyone in search of a pain specialist.

I received an epidural steroid injection (ESI) from Dr Wilson. After the procedure I have now learned that the drug that Dr Wilson used for the ESI (KENALOG-40) is NOT APPROVED BY THE FDA FOR EPIDURAL ADMINISTRATION. Dr Wilson never informed me that he was injecting a drug into me on an off-label basis. Had I been properly and legally informed that the drug injected into me was NOT APPROVED by the FDA for epidural administration, I would have refused the injection. The package insert for KENALOG-40 from the Bristol-Myers Squibb website clearly states at the very top "NOT FOR EPIDURAL USE". Why is a drug being injected into people epiduraly when the package insert clearly states "NOT FOR EPIDURAL USE"? At minimum, informed consent should be obtained from each patient. This is something that I never received. I have also learned that ESIs are extremely dangerous. Several people have even died from ESIs. Arachnoiditis is also another very serious complication that may result from ESIs. I… was never informed of any of these potentially very serious complications from ESIs. I would not recommend Dr Wilson for any kind of invasive procedure due to his failure to give proper and legally required informed consent. For narcotic pain relievers he is probably OK.

Dr. Wilson is a wonderful doctor. He truly cares and is very informative.

I am a Certified Medical Assistant. The person in the previous review is extremely misinformed about epidurals and medications for epidurals and the risks involved. The information stated in that review is extremely slanderous. People do not die from epidurals and using that specified medication would have been at that person's request and they would have personally provided the medication from their own pharmacy, not directly supplied from the Dr. My knowledge on this comes from my personal experience, this Dr. has treated me, and my education and knowledge of the medications involved and of the procedure.
