Dr. James Winder, MD

kids been going for years and he always says they are fine and will be ok when they really wont be . Environment is very dull and not welcoming , its already bad enough kids don't like to go to doctors. and i called for two weeks straight for some results on a very important issue and never got a response and baby is only 4 months old so seems like shes not that important so i decided to move on. FRANKY was thee only nurse that was very personable , caring etc.

Dr. Winder is a caring and compassionate Doctor. My daughter. at the age of 3.5, went completely blind due to retinal detachments in both eyes. He had every one of the top specialists see her while she spent 3 weeks in the hospital. He checked on her numerous times a day even though he had other patients. I was told she would never see again, but 13 years later has 20/ 30 and 20/50 vision. I believe this was due to looking for every imaginable disease and prompt attention. We left the area and just recently moved back. You can imagine who I set up as my kids' pediatrician once again. I could choose no other. He's smart, genuinely cares and goes the extra mile. My 14.5 year old son now has a problem I had asked other pediatricians about that told me it was normal...1st visit back to Dr Winder and he caught it before I could even ask. Dr Winder is simply the best pediatrician around and I wouldn't have anyone else care for my children. I trust him implicitly.

Very pleasant and warm. Grandfather type that sets my kids at ease. Is never dismissive no matter what my concerns.

He is so amazing he spends his time with you and he is wonderful at his job

Dr Winder has been our pediatrician for 20 years! He has the nicest bedside manner, he listens to your concern. He also listens to you and does not take offense when you tell him what you think it is! My 2 older daughters were sad to switch from him to a regular family practionier when they became adults! Soft, gentle mannerism, always is proactive in his care! Goes the extra mile. My kids have had major health issues and we have had only good experience. From his private office to the group!

I'm extremely unhappy about our experience with Dr. Winder. I had to get a second opinion on pink eye. I'm a mother of a 5 year old and 15 mo old. I think I know pink eye by now. The second doc I saw agreed. I wasted time and money to see Dr. Winder and I will never recommend him to another. Beware, don't tell this doc you think you know what's wrong with your child, he doesn't take kindly to a parent's intuition and experience. He knows best. Period. Well sir, with all due respect, I disagree.

I have taken my two children to Dr. Winder. Originally, he was at his own office when I started with him and now he is at University Health Systems. The service, rocky at first, now runs so smoothly. The staff are nice and Dr. Winder is a great doctor with such a nice air about him. He teaches medical students, which I think is great. Love him!

I would highly recommend Dr. Winder. He has been our pediatrician for both our children.
