Dr. James C Wittig, MD

Dr. Wittig and his clown assistant Miller appeared wonderful at first, but I should’ve known better to trust them. My joint never healed properly and now have osteopenia in the hand and when Miller called to follow up he was mocking the spelling of my name. Highly unprofessional. I regret having the surgery, the finger creates so much discomfort, I’m tempted to cut it off myself. Worst surgeon I’ve experienced to date.

He never called me after numerous calls about various complications after surgery, one being a blood clot after surgery.

He performed foot surgery on my daughter years ago just before going on vacation. My daughter developed complication within couple of days. I couldn’t reach anyone in his office. Nurse That was supposed to be covering him never returned my phone calls. Ended up taking my daughter to ER at valley. Went for follow up 2 weeks later and told him what happened.. not a word of apology . Very poor professional ethics and values of the entire team.

Cannot speak enough about Dr.James Wittig and his staff. They are all compassionate and caring I traveled 6.5 hours to have a consultant with Dr.Wittig and from that day on I knew I was going to survive this bone cancer. Dr.Wittig went in and removed my cancer! I am 5.5 weeks post op THR and pelvic reconstruction. I am blessed that I found Dr.Wittig and highly recommend this practice. Dr.Wittig is truly a gifted Intelligent amazing surgeon. Honored to be a patient of this practice great team great surgeon!

I have been going to Dr. Wittig since 2015 for surgery and follow-up treatment for a soft tissue sarcoma. This is Dr. Wittig's specialty and I could not be in better hands. He is an amazing surgeon and gifted doctor. Consider yourself lucky if you are one of his patients as you will receive the finest competent, professional and compassionate care from both Dr. Wittig and his staff. An excellent doctor in every respect.

The surgery was a failure, pathologist falsely reported negative margins after his surgery resulting in the halting of my treatment. Untreated I ended up progressing to stage IV and now am dying at 35

I hardly know where to begin in expressing my gratitude and admiration for Dr. James C. Wittig’s care and treatment of my rather unusually challenging knee disease. Since at least 2004, I had suffered from a rare, benign but aggressive tumor, called pigmented vilonodular synovitis—PVNS for short. My symptoms went from painless but marked swelling to increasingly debilitating though still painless swelling of the knee. The first orthopedic surgeon I consulted asked me in 2011 if I could live with it. At the time, since my only symptom was a slight limp, I told him I could. A slight limp seemed preferable to surgery. This turned out to have been very bad advice, since the PVNS tumor, clearly indicated on the MRI done at the time, was progressively destroying my knee joint. By early 2017, I acceded to the use of a cane to walk comfortably. A second orthopedic surgeon, looking at a new MRI, told me that on account of the PVNS I needed to consult an orthopedic oncologist, and… immediately recommended Dr. Wittig. My first consultation with Dr. Wittig was a reassuring experience. He patiently described the surgical intervention required, and explained that it would have to be done in two consecutive surgeries, the first to excise the tumor on the back of the knee, the second to excise the remaining tumor on the front of the knee and complete the full knee replacement. Perhaps most striking, though, was that Dr. Wittig, a warm person by nature, went on in a leisurely way to get to know me. There was no sense that he was anxious to move on to his next patient. He showed genuine interest in my multiple professions—musician, photographer, and writer. In my capacity as a writer, I was especially anxious to know if my recovery from these two surgeries would permit me to make the lecture tour to Germany planned for later in the year. He told me that though I might still require a cane, he thought the trip should be no problem. Through both surgeries, Dr. Wittig has been especially friendly and forthcoming with my wife. After each hours-long surgery he immediately came out of the OR to reassure her that the operation had gone well, and that he had been able to save my leg. The day after my second surgery, Dr. Wittig made a special trip into the hospital from his home some 25 miles away to visit me and see how I was doing. During my recovery, he was in touch with both my wife and me via email and Facebook to check on my recovery, and to send messages of encouragement. Now, thanks both to Dr. Wittig and my talented physical therapist, I walk without a cane, and am back on my bicycle. Dr. Wittig is a truly remarkable physician and human being.

Was refused pain meds after radical resection due to incompetent communication between the variety of NP and PA’s. Never saw the doctors face once before or after my surgery. Discharged in pure pain, I am 35 and have stage IV cancer and this guy couldnt take five minutes out to speak to me or my family. My wife still doesn’t know what he even looks like. His NP then claimed my wife agrees I didn’t need pain medicine though she called advocating the opposite

I was told by oncologists the mass resting on my nerve was not likely to be cancerous. They were wrong. Dr. Wittig removed the mass and 10 days later gave me the bad news; cancer. He took control and 2 days later removed the nerve, sheath and margins. Along with Drs. Pecora and Ingenito, my "team" devised a plan for winning with Dr. Wittig at quarterback. I am most confident for success going forward.
