Dr. Jan C Gromada, DO

I am a patient that was not notified that he retired and now I have no access to my medical records. The office phone has been disconnected and no one from the hospitals he was associated with can offer any information as to how I can obtain a copy of my medical record from his office or how to contact him.

During my first appointment with Dr. Gromada at around 4 weeks pregnant two of the nurses were chatting in my room and one spanked the other's butt. I felt it was very unprofessional to play around like that in front of a patient. When the doctor came in he kept saying that we need to order an ultrasound to make sure the pregnancy was viable and the baby was alive. This was with no reason to indicate otherwise. I was about 8 weeks along in my pregnancy when Dr. Gromada attempted to listen to the fetal heartbeat during a routine appointment. When he couldn't find it he declared my baby dead and said "sorry, these things happen." I told him I hadn't had any cramps/bleeding and was still having morning sickness. He blew it off and still argued that we lost the baby. After he left the nurse told me to schedule an ultrasound and told me not to give up hope yet. The ultrasound proved Dr. Gromada wrong, my baby was very much alive! The ultrasound tech stressed that typical office equipment is… not strong enough to hear the baby that early in the pregnancy. Dr. Gromada put me through a great deal of undue stress. We switched doctors. As a side note, it was also very frustrating that there were only a handful of seats in the waiting room and generally I had to stand. Standing for 15 -30 minutes while experiencing morning sickness is very unpleasant.

Dr. Gromada is an awesome OB. He took on my high risk pregnancy case and I couldnt ask for a better doctor. He is trustworthy, caring and on top of the newest procedures.

I have a serious medical problem because of a surgery Dr. Gromada performed on me. I told him something was wrong and he wouldn't listen. I went to Bad Axe and found wonderful doctors up there. I have a problem that now requires me to see a specialist at U of M in Ann Arbor. I would like to share what my problem is but I plan on suing him. I have been suffering from extreme pain from this condition. He called me a "junkie" and reffered me to psych at the hospital. Psych said my problem was real. I am very thankful for the doctors and hospitals in Bad Axe and Ann Arbor. I wouldn't reccomend Dr. Gromada to anyone!
