Dr. Jana Jones Schrier, MD

Dr. Schrier is simply the best. She has an excellent bedside manner, her staff is compassionate and I wouldn't choose any other doctor!

As a women of a "certain age" I was very nervous about changing doctors after mine had retired. From the moment I walked in I felt at ease and the time Dr. Shrier spent with me prior to "the exam" was extremely helpful. She answered my questions and actually listened to my concerns. I highly recommend Dr. Shrier.

Dr Schirer treats you as if your one of her family not just a patient I was sent to the ER a couple of weeks ago not to the hospital but urgent care unit. By my threapist, who's not a dr and she didn't relize I was already tested for STD'S ok well she called DR Schirer and Dr Schirer said I didn't need to go the ER because I was already tested for all this in her office. The threapist didn't understand. But DR Schirer is Amazing patient with me and can tell me everything I need to know about sex and just things in general I'm honored to be her patient. If I have to have any kind of female surgery Dr Schirer will be the first to know.

Little wait time (less than 5 min). Friendly staff who communicated very well what to expect from my visit. Dr. Schrier was not rushed when she saw me -- took her time and addressed all issues. She is very easy to talk to and I felt comfortable talking to her about a very personal issue. I also like the fact that she now specializes in women beyond childbirth years. I would highly recommend her to my friends.

Wait time has differed, but generally once I'm in the office, I feel the attention has been on me and why I'm there. She has taken the time to discuss what to expect and options I have. Easy to talk with and a pleasant personality.

I was 27 weeks and having contractions. Dr shrier tried to make me have a random nurse examine me before she could be bothered to come in to the hospital. Once she got there, she tried to put my concerns on the back burner and treated me like I was 10. She said that I wasn't dilated and that I didn't need to worry about anything. As soon as I left Georgetown, I went to st David's north and they told me I was dilated to 3 and tgat they needed to stop the contractions or I would be having a severely preterm baby. They succeeded and li and behold, dr shrier called the next morning and said that the ffn test came back positive for preterm delivery. Dr shrier is a prima Dona that has no respect for a mother's intuition or comfort. Stay away from her if you have any desire to have a birth plan. She couldn't even respect my need for modesty. Hate to think what she does to women who want to forego suction or episiotomies.

She listened patiently to everything I had to say and was very compassionate.

Being pregnant for the first time at 21 and being single wasn't exactly what I expected either but the doctor was very condescending. I have my own health insurance I paid for through my job and I deserve to be treated like an adult, not like an irresponsible teenager. She always spoke down to me and always asked if the dad was going to be around and when I said no she'd say well hopefully he will. Thats not something I asked her opinion on or wanted to hear. She just always had this look on her face like she disapproved. I've spoken to other women who went to Dr. Shrier and they've all said about the same thing. If you're married and are of "respectable" age you should be fine.
