Dr. Rao was born in Miami and raised in Bangalore, India. She earned her medical degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and went on to complete her anesthesiology residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where she served as chief resident of her class. She completed her interventional pain medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan. She practiced anesthesiology and interventional pain management in Michigan prior to moving to Tucson with her husband and two daughters.
In her spare time, Dr. Rao enjoys trying new recipes, hiking and swimming.
