Dr. Jane Weijieh Chien, MD

I am utterly disappointed with the ethics level of the clinic and Dr Chien. Dr Chien refused to provide annual exam on me, because I am a hospital floor nurse taking care of Covid-19 patients. When I take care of Covid-19 patients, I am always gowned up like an astronaut. I wear a special respirator (way better than N95) with a hood, wear double gloves, and gown. The Covid patients are in rooms with medical-graded filters and negative air pressure. Even if I am Covid negative and asymptomatic, Dr Chien would still refuse to see me in person. She would only do tele-consult with people like me. This was a total tight slap on my face, and show of disrespect to healthcare workers. I made the appointment with the clinic months ago, confirmed the appointment the morning itself and drove all the way to the clinic. Little did I know that I would be refused care without personal apology from the doctor. The clinic also did not offer its other doctors who could see me for annual exam. This is… totally unacceptable and unethical. This is very upsetting to me, because I had seen this doctor for a couple of years, and this was the dignified treatment I received.

Even though I have had my good share of doctors over the years, Dr. Chien is the best doctor I have ever had. I would have given her 6 stars if I could in a 1-5 star system. Among the things for which I like about her, the following stands out: She always listens and answers/explains to my health concerns with patience and understanding in an efficient way. She is very professional with her vast and up-to-date medical knowledge when she treats me. She would order tests and /or refer me to specialists whenever deemed appropriate based on her good judgment. She follows up with an e-mail to me with her take on the tests results, and indicates the next step to take to address the specific concern. She always replies to my e-mails promptly. Two of the e-mails I got back from her were written at 3:29am and 6:42am! Recently I sent an e-mail to her on a Friday night before the long holidays. I got the answer back the next day with detailed instructions. That really eased my mind. Her… caring and dedication are simply impressive. Every time I saw her, she’s always energetic and focused toward her patients like my husband and me. Furthermore, her office staffs are always friendly and helpful. I would recommend her to my family members and friends without any hesitation. I feel so lucky that I have found a good doctor like her.

I know Dr Chien helped save my life. She is a wonderful Doc. She listens to all my worries and communicates well.

Jane Chien is the absolute worst example of todayâ??s medical profession. She is completely ignorant in dealing with the special needs of her patients and is absolutely arrogant towards family members trying to explain and steward the healthcare needs of their incapacitated relatives. Chienâ??s brazen lack of compassion for her patients and the supporting family is beyond all comprehension and I have never encountered this level of callousness from any other practicing Physician. Chien is no longer tending our familyâ??s healthcare needs. I made this decision for numerous reasons, but the last straw was due to her inability to correct my Coumadin INR levels after four months of repeated testing with only sporadic changes in the medication dosage. I went to the Heart Associates Coumadin Clinic and they had my INR levels back into a normal range in just five days and have kept it under control ever since. Is Chien incompetent or just uninterested in her patientâ??s welfare? You… decide, either way, it is the patient who suffers the consequences.

I have had no problems with Dr Chien

These negative comments are true.Dr. Chien has been my doctor for a few years only because others recommened by my previous physician were not taking new patients. I feel she doesn't even know who I am. I asked her if she would know who I was when I got older and really needed her. Her reply, "Now I will". The staff has changed recently. But her former assistant Charlene was very helpful. Dr. Chien pays more attention to her computer than patients. I have never seen her smile.

She misdiagnized diseases in several occassions. It is hard to get an appointment from her when I'm actually sick. Getting follow-up appointment is easy but that's not important anyway. Overall, I'm disappointed by her services.

Dr. Chien became my family's doctor three years ago, when our long-time doctor retired. We have been very pleased with Dr. Chien's effectiveness and efficiency, always with excellent follow-up and succinct communication of results and explanations.
