Dr. Jane L. Miller

I saw Dr. Miller in May of 2022, my experience was one of the most negative I have had with a doctor. I admit my case had been puzzling to the previous 3 urologists who had seen me. But, I hoped my experience with her would be different due to her expertise in urology AND gynecology. Dr. Miller seemed to be annoyed, the appointment felt like an interrogation and minimization of my symptoms and pain. She listed a large number of procedures I could 'choose from' without much guidance, instead, she sent me home with pamphlets and an overload of information. I came out of the appointment questioning my pain and feeling stupid, she made me feel like I was wasting her time. Thankfully, I have finally been diagnosed with suspected endometriosis. I did tell Dr. Miller that I felt urinary pain was most intense around my menses, and this observation was dismissed. I feel that she is one of the many doctors that have failed me in the last 7 years, and the one that most made me feel unheard.

Lacks Empathy. It is impossible to get a response back from the clinic. No one seems to know what is going on. She is dismissive and said things that were awful, horrible, rude, and insulting. Her approach seems to be throw every treatment at the wall and maybe something will stick. She is working with a very sensitive area of the body and she should work harder to treat her patients with kindness and respect.

Excellence is what Dr. Miller is all about. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a great doctor who actually listens and cares.

I've been going to UW med urology clinic for over 20 years. It has been getting harder and harder to get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time. Now there is an extra layer to get through the UW call center. Last time I called with a concern I did not get a response that was sufficient to address the problem. The doctor when I do see her is personable but does not stay up to date on my condition (IC). I have to tell her about things. She is willing to try and help, but must strictly abide by what the UW rules are for prescribing, etc. Her nurse, Jean Kalhoff is understanding, but, again for this disease they only offer some treatments and if you want to speak to them on the phone, impossible or email, forget it, not allowed as far as I know.
