I have been a patient for several years. I called for an appointment because I have been coughing for a month the nurse said since I hadnt been seen in over 6 months I had to go to urgent care which is twice as expensive. I am very disappointed in this Dr.; for the 1st contact, I spoke with her on the phone and she was rude, impatient & tried to be intimidating. I don't accept that, and I was nice but firm with her about my own expectations. My partner's been to the Duke Urgent Care 2x, ER once and to see Trinh 2x since July, but NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG- NO DIAGNOSIS. I have to live with him & his deteriorating health & low quality of life; Trinh will not budge to see him except 3 months out, no matter if he's very sick; her actions speak louder than words. My sister is a Harvard pathologist and she has reviewed his test results and we both believe he has an autoimmune disease, but Trinh is chasing infectious disease; she is hellbent on her way, but not considering other paths to dx. I asked for a specialist referral but she won't budge; she said we're free to find another Dr. her ego is too big to think about her patient; well, Trinh, a specialist will zone in on what's truly wrong with my… husband.

As a supervising physician, she popped in, raised her voice, was condescending, gave quick judgmental conclusion, didn't listen to patient, and was generally unpleasant. Overall, poor bedside manner.

Dr. Trinh is an excellent clinician and has a wonderful bedside manner. My husband and I are both physicians and we trust her to take care of us and our entire family!
