Dr. Janet Mary Chance, MD

I was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's by a polite, but somewhat indifferent neurologist who gave me little hope or understanding. Dr. Chance, on the other hand, brings a unique, personal touch when dealing with her patients. I have never been invited to sit in a doctor's private office to discuss my symptoms--let alone my fears. Dr. Chance provides that opportunity, along with that rare ability to answer questions in terms the average person can understand. This not only helps provide clarity, but encourages hope and confidence that no matter what the future brings, she will be there for you. P.S. Her photo should be updated; she has glorious silver hair now.

Dr Chance was never in a hurry and answered all my questions. I had seen other doctors for my movement problem but did not feel fully satisfied. I have confidence in her and will return.

I have Parkinson's Disease and have had to search for months to find a doctor with knowledge of the illness. I heard of Dr.Chance and had to wait 3 months to get in to see her. I am so glad I did. SHe is wonderful. IT is a joy to find a doctor who really cares and listens to you.At her office you are not a number or blank face sittinhg in the waiting room. IT is very evident that she is a master of this disease, She can laugh with you and is very thorough. I just hope she will be accessible when needed. Her patient list is long.

Always explains everything very thoroughly and takes as much time as necessary to answer questions/concerns.

GREAT WITH PARKINSON'S

I saw four different doctors before meeting Dr. Chance. After she examined me she was able to diagnose, treat and explain my condition. Dr. Chance has a wonderful calming bedside manner. Over the years Dr. Chance has been available to help me with any issues that have come up. She has an excellent team of professionals available to cover any needs.

My father is a patient of Dr. Chance. He has Parkinson's Disease. She has seen him for 3 1/2 years, now, and she's helped my dad really dial in his treatment strategy. Great support, very knowledgeable, and funny, too...She will listen and, if you are a person who desires to get better, she will help you get there.

She stopped authorizing medication for pain management, even though she doesn't question my pain. I have no insurance and can't afford to get new scan MRI's, which she wants. I've had two spinal injuries and two major surgeries already.I had scans after my last surgery and it didn't show anything significant, in their terms. I am in constant pain.Why would you not continue pain management?I don't get it. Will be finding a new doctor that cares about my pain.
