Dr. Janet Huiying Pulskamp, MD

It breaks my heart to have been through a horrible experience with this Dr. because no matter what I respect and am thankful for what they do for us. However, I was actually in a situation that I had to terminate a pregnancy and I was obviously not happy about it so what I need at that moment is comfort and support. When I went into my appointment with Dr. Janet Pulskamp she was treating me so poorly. She kept using the term “baby” and she was just throwing off the vibe that she is against all of that which is totally fine everyone is entitled to their own opinion but stepping into my shoes and all the other girls that do this for the best is hard to hear those type of things and asking “are you sure you want to do this” a million of times. It was just the way she would say thing extremely rude and I literally left home crying I was so alone at this point and it is something I wouldn’t want to experience again. If you are not okay with what is done in the whole OBGYN building don’t… work there use your Dr degree elsewhere because you don’t know who you are harming for acting a certain way.

It was only after I had delivered my second child (with another ob-gyn) that I realized fully the deficiencies of this doctor. After birth, she never explained that trips to the bathroom would be terrifying and painful at first and never offered treatment such as stool softeners. I didn't know that was an option! My second ob-gyn prescribed a stool softener for my post-partum trips to the bathroom, and boy, what a difference this made during my recovery. Such a simple thing that Dr. Pulskamp never did for me, that made a huge difference in my recovery.

Dr. Pulskamp delivered my baby a couple of years ago. She did not know that there were serious complications (judging from the wild readings on the heart rate monitor) during delivery, and the baby was born blue, deprived of oxygen, not moving, not breathing, etc. The APGAR score was 1. Luckily, the baby recovered after that (after a couple of weeks in the ICU), but it was more the treatment I received afterwards that really bothered me. She seemed to distance herself from me and seemed almost to "blame" me for the traumatic delivery. She never once exhibited any warmth, compassion, or sympathy for my problems after the birth. She was extremely cold and seemed to act in a way to avoid any lawsuit due to her inability to catch the issues during delivery. Later, her nurse practitioner asked me completely inappropriate questions, such as "perhaps your husband slept around and gave you a virus?" I couldn't believe it. I would never recommend her to anyone.
