Dr. Janet M. Ross, MD

I’ve used Dr Ross as my OBGYN for years and not only is she current in standard of care practices, but also incredibly approachable with excellent bedside manner. No matter the scenario, whether routine yearly physical or complicated c section/surgery, she has a calming presence which keeps her patients at ease and confident with her as their attending. She is an advocate for her patients with other departments in the hospital to make sure her patients get the care they need/deserve. I highly recommend Dr Ross.

I’m sorry but this doctor is not the best when it comes to women of color and care. I would NOT recommend her at all. In 2017, I was a new mother to be at 40 weeks gestation along with my fiancé at the time who was not a person of color and instead of recommending that we induce right then and there because the baby did not come on his own and because as a pregnancy goes on there are certain complications that can arise with the placenta (I learned all of this on my own) she decided to let us choose even though we asked her opinion. Well that choice proved to be deadly. Not only was I over my 40 week term by 3 days but a once healthy baby boy was delivered as a stillbirth and on a follow up appointment she had the audacity to tell me that I had lots of time to have another. What kind of doctor tells someone who’s just lost a child that they WANTED that? I would steer far away not to mention up until the loss she was quite cold and indifferent to a lot of questions I had. If you notice… all of her 5 stars are primarily from women who I’m sure she decided to take better care of. Now, not only don’t I have a child but I’m left riddled with severe depression and ptsd. Please stay away!!!

Dr. Ross was my OB for the birth of my first child and she was fabulous. Nothing about my birth went according to plan, but she was able to help guide me and make the appropriate medical decision for me and my baby. Her hands on approach and technique meant that I didn't tear at all during my vaginal delivery. She is easy to talk to and very enthusiastic about all of her patients. It was important for me to know that she was in direct contact with my nurses during my hospitalization and checked in often. If I have any more babies it will be with Dr. Ross!

Dr. Ross is incredible! I am not one to write reviews, in fact I have never written a review. Dr. Ross deserves all the recognition!! I made an appointment with Dr Ross after finding in out that I was pregnant at 40 years old and had been trying to have a baby for a long time. My first instinct was to find the BEST OB, after much research I chose Dr. Ross and I was NOT disappointed. She is very knowledgeable, caring, throughly, and detailed. She doesn’t fluff things, she tells you the truth and listen attentively to your concerns. Close to my delivery, Dr. Ross came up with a birth plan and made sure I was 100% confortable and on board to have a safe and natural birth. When it came time for the birth of my healthy baby boy, Dr. Ross was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. There is not enough words to describe the feeling of trust I had on her and knowing that she was going to take care of myself and my baby. Labor wasn’t easy and the entire time she was there assuring me that I was doing… great and everything was going to be ok, she guide me the entire time. I could write about Dr Ross all day long, I am truly her fan. Shout out as well to her awesome nurses and all the nurses that worked with her at Touro Hospital (Nurses at the hospital love and respect Dr. Ross

She is so amazing. Even though this was my first pregnancy and it was stillbirth. She was so supportive. The staff are so nice. Love the enviroment. Whenever i become pregnant again im going back to her

Dr. Ross has been my OBGYN for 11 years. I would recommend her to anyone. She creates an environment where you feel safe to open up and discuss any health concerns. She was amazingly supportive during my miscarriage, and the successful birth of my son. I couldn't have asked for a better experience through my labor and delivery with her and her team. She is through and very knowledgeable. She takes the time to explain things and to be sure to address any questions. I felt like she always had my best interest in mind. Sheâ??s an awesome doctor!

Dr. Ross not only has wonderful bedside manner but you can ask her anything at anytime. She is easily available. She returns messages promptly. You are an obvious priority. I had a emotionally stressful and physically hard pregnancy and she made sure I was as comfortable as possible the whole time. She became a confidant and I know my pregnancy ended up being a nice experience basically because of her support and understanding. I even had an emergency c-section and she was a calm and steady force-she took care of things in a seemingly effortless way. I feel lucky to have had her deliver my baby. I know my husband feels forever in her debt. And hope that she's delivering another one sometime soon. Even as a gynecologist, she sends a annual reminder card to make your appt and pays great attention to your age and family history to stay on top of breast cancer risks.

I LOVE Dr. Ross, I can't recommend her enough to all of my friends around New Orleans!!! She delivered my second child via c-section due to a high risk issue and she did so during Hurricane Isaac flawlessly. With this high risk issue, she helped me every step of the way to make sure this would be a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery and it was. She was a rock star in the operating room: calm, confidant and prepared--even during a hurricane! Besides my delivery, she is a great OBGYN. She answered ALL of my lists of questions with great detail, patience and time. I would recommend Dr. Ross and Touro to anyone. I'm so thankful for a healthy delivery and a healthy baby boy. She is a wonderful doctor and very caring and compassionate about her work. I really wish all doctors were as wonderful as Dr. Ross!
