Dr. Janos Paul Ertl, MD

Very pleasant staff and he never rushed me and explained everything he was doing and had done after surgery. Sent me helpful information to take home with me. Great bedside manner.!

Worse experience I've ever had. Dr. Ertl seems to rely so heavily on residents and students that while he had been "my doctor" for 4 months, I didn't meet him until I was in the hospital being prepped for knee surgery. Even then, the surgery was performed by a resident, which I didn't find out about until much later. After the surgery, my follow up appointments were also with residents. It's hard to feel like you're in good hands when you get to meet your doctor once and every appointment is with a different resident. There is no sense of continuity or care when at every appointment you have to start over and explain everything to a new person. In the end, I was so much worse off after the surgery that I had to find a new doctor and have a follow up surgery to fix what they did (and did not do, but should have done).

The dr. Was out of the country, the bad thing is that my legs was hurting badly however, I called his office to request stronger pain Meds and the nurse told me he was out of the country. My problem is every Dr. That leaves town for any reason they do have someone to fill in their place. So that left me to be in pain for the whole time he was absent. I don't appreciate the disrespect from the staff. No one deserves that. I only had one visit with him and when the nurse looked at my files she insisted on the E.R. They gave me pain medicine but they did not! The nurse could have easily checked it out but instead I got seriously stereotyped. I am seriously thinking about using another orthopedic. My feeling are really awkward! So if I have to have to surgery, how am I supposed to trust them?

Dr. Jan Ertl is one of the most skilled orthopedic surgeons I have ever worked with. He Keeps up to date with new concepts and ideas and develops his own as well. I greatly miss working with Dr. Ertl as he was not stuck in the "I am an M.D. and you are but a technition idea so if you are good at your job Jan will appreciate your abilities and work well with you. I miss working with Jan and his team and always will.

Very good experience with this doctor and his nurse.
