Dr. Jasmin F. Bhathena, MD

Dr. Bhathena has cared for my children (now 17 and 18) since they were born. She is kind, smart, professional, and thorough. She REALLY listens and pays equal attention to "the sniffles" as to more serious symptoms. You can see her passion for practicing medicine when you are with her. My children have been pretty healthy, however my second child had a fairly serious illness when he was a baby. Seeing her take charge at the hospital and advocate for her patient was really impressive and we knew we would get the best care. It can be hard to get an appointment with her but it's well worth it. Your children will be in very good hands.

Her time is more important than yours. She seems to have forgotten we are paying her for her service. She has timing preferences, and if you can't accommodate her schedule, she'd rather not take you on as a patient.

Dr. Bhathena is an incredible doctor and she has been my primary care for as long as I can remember and I just recently transferred out of pediatrics to adult internal medicine. She is patient and kind and so genuinely concerned about your well being you would think she was your own mother. I could not have asked for a better doctor and would recommend her to anyone looking for a doctor for their child. She is busy because she is incredible with what she does and I would be worried if she wasn't. But she is always through, organized and willing to listen to whatever concerns you have. If I could, I would have Dr. Bhathena be my doctor for the rest of my life.

My first appointment with Dr. Bhathena was disappointing...we were new patients, had just moved to the area, and at the time, my daughter was less than a year old. I had chosen her because I had heard she was knowledgeable and thorough. I walked out of office and went home and cried. She was thorough, but hadn't spent any time in the appointment getting to know my daughter or my parenting stye, argued with my former pediatrician's advice, and gave me a list of instructions and concerns without allowing me to process and then ask questions. I decided to give her another chance, and the second visit was better. She asked questions about how we did things at home, explained what she was looking for and why, and while we personally didn't connect, she left me assured that my daughter's needs were met. And then we had our appointment today. I waited 20 mins (understanding that is a possibility in a busy dr. office) and then got only 15 min of Dr. Bhathena's time. It seemed as if she… didn't know who we were: she had forgotten the information I had given her at our last appointment (like the fact that my daughter is in daycare--pretty basic), gave me patronising instructions that if she had remembered our last appointment she would have understood I was fully aware of, ordered additional painful lab tests, and didn't interact with my daughter more than just to tell me that she is not autistic. Again, I get it that the office was busy...however, we are patients too, and deserve not just our fair time but also a dr who is truly concerned with our comprehensive health. I thought the third time was the charm, but after today's vist I am switching pediatricians.

Spent time getting to know my child and me. Very smart.
