Dr. Jasmine E Malcolm, MD

I was referred to Dr. Malcolm for a minor procedure. When I arrived for my appointment, they were running about 30 minutes late. When I was called back, I asked the medical technician how long it might be as I should probably check in with my supervisor. The medical technician went on about how that all depends on how much time "you patients" spend asking questions. She went on to note that patients need to be properly informed before we schedule our appointments so that we know which type of appointment to make. At one point, she even brought race and assumptions about police officers into the conversation. After Dr. Malcolm examined me, she recommended at two-part procedure. I questioned the two visits and relayed what my primary physician had said. She looked at me and said, "you would not go to a podiatrist for cancer treatment." She literally said: "We are the cutters. We know." I was stunned not only by the medical technician's response who told me that I needed to better… informed before I came to the office, and Dr. Malcolm's response, which seemingly implied that she was the expert and my questions were irrelevant and/or ill-informed. After the exam, I expressed to Dr. Malcolm that the experience I had during this appointment was neither good or appropriate. I did not return to this practice and instead got a second opinion. It turns out I did not need surgery and the situation resolved itself on its own under the care of another general surgeon.

Dr. Malcolm was at the Hospital early she stopped in the room to check on me we went over everything she met my wife and told her she'll speak with her again once the surgery was complete. All went well and I'm very happy with the results.
