Dr. Jason Bell, MD

I am writing this at the request of my friend who was a long time patient (macular problems) of Dr Bell's father. She was experiencing new symptoms and the symptoms kept getting worse. Dr Bell was dismissive told her she did not have macular disease and was just getting older. Her symptoms got worse and she finally went to Wings optometry and within 2 days she was being seen at University of Cincinnati and diagnosed with a large melanoma in her eye. Now a year later she has metastatic melanoma in the liver and little hope. Would the out come have been different if it had been diagnosed a year earlier; we will never know. Never the less, I suggest that you go to someone who cares enough to explore your symptoms and find a diagnosis and not someone with a lot of letters behind their name. NEVER TAKE OLD AS A DIAGNOSIS, MAKE YOUR DOCTOR FIND A CAUSE OR FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR.

Dr. Bell is very skilled and knowledgeable. I have heard that his "bedside" manner is not the best but I did not experience that at all. He is to the point and doesn't make unrealistic promises. He answers any questions or concerns. He even gave me his cell phone number which I ended up using because of a concern. He answered immediately and with a couple of questions totally calmed my concerns. My experience has been nothing short of amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Bell and CEI. My cataract surgery was perfect. My vision is amazing.

Very satisfied with whole experience. Dr Bell could be a little more personable but he is honest and efficient. He answered my questions and didn't seem in a rush. The front desk personnel and his assistant were great.

Dr. Bell came highly recommended, and I guess he knows what he's doing -- he has the qualifications. However, his attitude was at best, brusque, and at worst, dismissive. I consider myself to be an intelligent, well-educated person who understands my particular eye conditions, but I was made to feel as though I knew absolutely nothing. Questions were answered with a minimum of detail, and a brush-off. I felt as though my exam were a chore to be completed as soon as possible so that he could get back to doing something else more interesting. I will see him once more at my scheduled appointment, but if the people skills (or lack thereof) exhibited at my last appointment haven't changed, I won't go back. I want a doctor who acts as though I matter. As another reviewer said, his staff was helpful and friendly.

I orginginally tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Bell, Sr. He was not available for several months. So reluctantly I scheduled with Dr. Jason Bell. He was rude, condescending and arrogant. I will not be returning. I should have waited to see Dr. Bell Sr. The office staff was extremly helpful and kind.

Dr. Howard Bell is the preeminent ophthalmologist in the Cincinnati area and his son is following in his footsteps. Dr. Jason is well-versed on the newest techniques in eye health and has a wonderful bedside manner that makes you feel great trust in his capable hands.
